It had already been mentioned by other people in other threads but I'm really looking forward for this one, so I decided to open a thread about it to give it more exposure.
What immediately caught me was that this game captures the first two Wing Commander games, although one can only say that once it can be played of course.

this looks amazing. am playing through wc 2 secret missions now and this looks like it might capture the awesomeness of that series.

its a shame it looks like it won't get funded

Thanks for posting in my thread, I won't feel so alone now. =)

I guess too much Star Citizen is sucking funds away from them, which is a shame, this could be a fun little game. =(
I tried the demo some weeks ago, and while it doesn't seems bad per se, it really adds nothing to the old WC games... it looks just like a semi-HD remake with the same basic gameplay and even more generic story and characters.

Hopefully the full game will be more interesting, but it just didn't "click" for me...

I agree that the story could benefit from better writing.

Bottom line is that in almost every aspect (writing, engine and gameplay) it does not seem to compete well against something like http://www.wcsaga.com/

I was told by the creator of the project that GOG declined to sell Eterium. That is disappointing as the game definitely looks like a good fit to GOG.

That could always change if the product turns out to be half decent :)

Did they say why it was rejected?

I would have thought it would have fit into GOG catalogue fine (considering some of the other games they did let be sold here.....)..certainly different from the plethora of adventure games and platformers that seem to be prevalent...:/

no just the fact that it was rejected.
