Greetings everyone.

I've struggling for two days with a nasty issue on my games library: Whenever I try to download anything, the installer or the bonus contents, I end up on a blank page with a "403 - Forbidden". The URL of the page look like this:
http://wpc.11df.edgecastcdn.net/0011DF/secure/theme_hospital/pc/setup_theme_hospital_2.0.0.5.exe?1223fb43868c5f174d699aca533ffcf6815c48a262883bde5b2a4782322cfae0a8a6599c31550561df4515238339e2ef778308b1d66ddaf46150c7ee3067d1762f0e4a2f6aa30995a481723c80fbcd1a50c160d70885117b0e6b7060e11c1488fc3d77ae32933a3e0f6f57a2facd5720777c723442a87145d8c30295331147d05b291451a83ae4f66a05&fileExtForIe=.exe

Here, for the Theme Hospital .exe file.

Please, I really want to play those games. If you ever had the same issue, feel free to post here.

Did you contact the GoG support team and did you get a confirmation that the ticket was recieved? If you got the confirmation, just wait. It's the weekend so it may take a bit. If you didn't recieve the automated confirmation, then something with your support request went wrong and you should send it again.

Everything looks OK on our end as I have checked the links and attempted to download the exe file as a regular user.

Silly question but what browser are you getting this 403 from?
The empty tab is the same tab you started the download from (no new tab has been opened)?

Do you block referers (telling a page from which page you came)?
Please PM me with a Speedtest.net test result and let me know what kind of Internet connection you are using. I'll bet two and a half Interwebs that you're behind some sort of Proxy server, but we're currently gathering more information about this kid of issue, before we can attempt a fix. I would also like to know if your IP is static or dynamic, however I don't think this is directly linked to the 403 error issue.

To my knowledge, you should be able to use the Downloader to download files without problems, as the Downloader's download links are generated differently than browser-only download links. Please let me know if this helps.

I just tried my Theme Hospital in both Chrome and Firefox and both times I was able to download. You might want to give it another go, some people have been having issues at the moment with all the outrageous price drops.
I'm actually using Mozilla Firefox 20 browser.
As provider, I'm at my school provider (Epitech), and I have dynamic IP.
And the empty tab is the same tab I started the download from, and I'm not blocking referer.

Actually, I didn't made a ticket to support. I was waiting to see if things changes
Hm, I'm having the same problem in Firefox; I tried downloading a game in Chrome and everything was fine...
Tried to download on Chrome, didn't worked. Still, thanks.

Really strange. You could try to right-click on the link and open it in a new tab. I had it at another site that it worked that way, but not in the same tab. (Shouldn't make a difference theoretically, but sometimes computers don't know that theory).
I tried a download with Firefox just now and it worked perfectly. I checked the version and discovered I have not used Firefox for a year, it was on 15. It auto updated to version 21.0 and I tried downloading the same game installer again. It worked perfect again.

This is the Mac OS X version of Firefox but I don't see how that would be significant here. The code that would be involved in something like this isn't likely any different across platform versions.

Normally, I use Safari and that is working fine too here, but again that is a Mac browser.

Hope you have some luck with getting this fixed or else maybe with the GOG downloader.

Have you been able to download GOGs at your school in the past? Schools and universities tend to put all kind of weird restrictions on some (or sometimes all) of their computers...

pls respond

;)

Most importantly, please check if the GOG Downloader lets you download the games (it should), and send me some more information about your Internet connection, as per my original reply, at your convenience.
