SET 5!

As with the other yes/no contest, you get 1 guess per question per post. You may also post a yes/no question about the answer in each post. If you post more than one guess in a post, I will ignore them completely even if one of them is right.

Categories:

1. Video games
2. Music
3. Movies & Television
4. Books & Literature
5. Historical Figures
6. Common Nouns

Each game will consist of 5 sets of questions with 1 category question and 4 other questions per set.

Before each set of 4 questions, there will be a "category question." Answer a category question correctly and not only do you get 1 point, you also get to pick the category for the next 4 questions!

Each question is worth 1 point, including category questions.

Each point counts as 1 "ticket" in the raffle. The more tickets you acquire in a game, the more likely you are to win the random giveaway.

At the end of each game, I will tally the total number of points between all players. Then, using random.org, a number will be picked from among that total number of points. The person whose number is picked is the winner. So just because you don't have the highest number of points, doesn't mean you won't win! Every question you answer is a chance to win!

Win 1 game and you get $6 of GOGs. If you want a $5.99 GOG, it's yours.

If not, you can "let it ride" on to the next game. If you win the a second game in a row, your prize triples to $18 of GOGs.

If you're feeling daring, you can "let it ride" again. That $18 of GOGs becomes $36 of GOGs if you win.

If you're absolutely adventurous, you can "let it ride" again. If you win a fourth straight contest, the prize triples again to $72 of GOGs. That is as high as it goes.

If you "let it ride" and don't win, the prize is forfeit.

I'm sorry, I'm afraid that the game hasn't started yet... and we only do one question at a time (so only one of those categories at a time).

I wish I could find the other threads to show you an example of how the game works, but GOG won't let me use the search button right now for some reason!

Anyway, I will still award you a point for trying!

spindown: I think it is kind of confusing until you see an example.

Best way to search the GOG forums is the following:

1. Open Google
2. Type: whatever you want to find site:wow.gog.com

GOG's search is unfortunately lackluster.
For example this was found quite fast: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/yes_no_giveaway

Sure! It's not too much different than this one. What do you prefer about it? That it is geography based?

Ok, sure thing. I'll run one of those as soon as this game completes.
Stoic's games are among the best things in this forum.

I'm not entering this one, as I won quite a few contests in a short time span a few weeks ago and decided to give others a chance =P

Good luck, everyone!

Thanks! :D (that said, I wont have probably many chances to take part nor win it anyway because of time zone differences :D ;))

I'm awake weird hours though because of my vacation (holiday?) so maybe. I can start a game around 5:30 Polish local time, that's no problem. It would be about 12:30 PM here.

Really the biggest time that wouldn't work is mornings your time, because that would mean I would have to be up at 5AM or so.

Ah, so that's the reason you've started your contest "win promo game" so "early". :)
Set 1 can begin as soon as a couple people check in to say they're playing!
