rooshandark8: Not to be rude or anything, But these homework comments are getting on my nerves
And if i keep on getting these, I will have to set a few requirements for people who can enter this, Things such as rep, How long you been here, Etc. So that we can have a mature, and friendly contest, Instead of ........ I am tired right now, So i may sound a bit cranky, But i think you guys would understand my point of view
That i am holding this contest, where no one is left out, Where everyone has something they will like, and everyone gets something, and instead of getting constructive criticism, Suggestions, and maybe a little bit of gratitude, I am being bothered, By the same, old comment, that has been running, for a long while. Go read the old threads, I am done with explaining.
zotofmu: To be fair, getting comments like that so often may have less to do with the fact that you're posting math questions, and more with the fact that, from the old threads you suggest reading, no one appears to have actually won anything from your previous contests of this type. From what I can tell, only
one prize was handed out, during your second contest, and that was only after
someone pointed out that there had been no prizes handed out in your first contest. The second contest also seemed to just sort of sputter out, ending after a single round and with a request for ideas for future rounds.
You've said that you want to have a long-running contest, with people building up points through multiple rounds in multiple contests to use in your game booth. But none of your
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/win_some_gogs_by_steaming/post1]opening posts have made that clear -- you've only mentioned the long-running aspect when pressed on the issue. You've also not given any indication as to when you plan to open this booth.
Obviously, I'm just going by what I've read in these threads. I could be misinterpreting things, or missed a thread in which all this was resolved. If so, then I apologize, and you are more than welcome to correct me. And I am certainly not saying you plan to never make good on what you offered. But to me, it seems disingenuous to wonder why your contests aren't getting respected when there are people who have yet to receive anything from you despite entering your first contest over a year ago.
I still plan to participate, though. Contests are fun!
You have a fair logical reason behind it so i will try to explain my reasoning behind the contest, why no one hasn't won anything yet etc
So reason i haven't given anyone But that one person a game yet
*which was due to it seeming as it wasn't a point earner kind of contest NOT because i didn't give out a prize in the first one*
so the reason i haven't given anyone anything yet is because i don't like leaving out people who worked hard on something, I don't like feeling left out, You don't like feeling left out, No one does, Thus i came up with a idea for a really long running contest, so that everyone gets something.
As for when i will open this booth, it all depends on various factors, When the website that barefoot_monkey is working on for me is finished, the time this contest finishes, How my finances are, and various other factors.
Your interperation was logical, and fair, and stated in a non offense matter, Unlike "questions are his homework and you all are falling for his trap" However saying that its insincere to wonder when the people haven't received anything is a well, lets put it this way, If you are running a contest, and have been getting the same comment by a select few accusing you and saying its a "trap" is quite annoying, When you have been working on this for a long while,
With alot of things in store, And as for them getting nothing, That is wrong in a way They have gotten the tickets, Which they are going to redeem on the game booth Though your right in a way So the game booth, i hope to open by November, when this contest ends, And the game booth will run for a year,
Your welcome to participate by the way So please join in the fun,
