I vote "nay". I like the uncluttered and clean aesthetics of the forums.
If you really want to add features so there'd be more little pictures all over the place, at least make them optional.

I generally don't dislike emoticons, but they are part of a board's style for me. And like ethanpd said, I think this kind of "old-school style" perfectly suits GoG.com :D

i'm fer smilies and profiles, and links to my messenger handles..
smilies as an option of course, either seein' em or seein'em in text.

Graphical emoticons should be banned forever!

Profiles and personal messages are a necessity, graphical emoticons no.

Instead of having or not, isn't better to adjust the forum so any user can change if they want to see or not emoticons?
I know it's a little of work, but it's a solution that satisfies both sides of the coin :3

I agree with the 'NAY' side of the community. What I like about this forum, is that it's not flashy and trashed with smiley faces every other word. It's very simple and friendly. I like the lack of emoticons and I like the lack of signatures with big banners.
All in all - I would like it to stay as is.
