In scenes that will shock football once more Emmanuel Eboue was pelted with missiles from the crowd during a Turkish league match.
The former Arsenal man, now with Galatasaray, was barely able to come within 10 feet of the touchline without an object being hurled at him from the crowd.

There is nothing to suggest the motives of a fan base largely made up of supporters of great rivals Besiktas, was race, but the scenes will do little to help the reputation of Turkish football.

Eboue, who left Arsenal last summer after six years in north London, has had a mixed opening to his career in Turkey, featuring in all but one of the games, although has been substituted in almost half of those.
The Ivory Coast international has also developed the same reputation he had unfortunately cultivated in London, that of a diver, something many believe was the cause of the attack.

// Damn, why this happened to Eboue? He's one of nicest guy in football and great role model. This is really ugly scene.

Well, it is football, did you expect anything better?
But throwing objects at player? I don't know whether this has to do with racism or not but that was way overboard.
If they do, they usually throw objects at players. In this case, most of the participants were just dumbfounded about why is the "punishment of god" happening only to him.
I'm Galatasaray fan (Eboue's team). Unfortunately, such things are happening of Turkish football. Everybody knows Besiktas fans are ignorant and aggressive. This ugliness is seen in major competitions. However, I don't follow and not interested soccer.
wow this is awful
Based on the video, the officials did nothing? Shouldn't the match called off?
What is the point of this thread? Is this the first footbal player fans throw shit at?
Also, did you watch the game? And did you see him holding his head after being hit by a bottle on the side?
Beşiktaş is gonna get some kinda punishment, money or being forced to play away when the match is at home.
What happened is the combination of Eboue being a diver and a drama queen and another GS player agitating the crowd.

It shows that "you don't follow and not interested in soccer"; ignorant and aggresive is not the first thing to pop into mind when one thinks of Beşiktaş fans.

The point of this thread is to condemn such action. Besiktas probably one of the loudest out there. These two clubs always will be great rival but fans need to realize nobody should get hurt because of sporting event.

Loudest; yes http://www.uefa.com/news/newsid=892064.html
Violent? No.
Beşiktaş fans make one of the most creative, fun, houmoros crowd out there.

This has nothing to do with racism.. Soccer fans usually do such things like throwing objects to the field/players, bringing weapons to matches, starting big fights with the opposing team fans without any reason. Sadly they never learn...

Again, this is football. Don't expect anything better.
Dont worry, a hand shake after the match and that makes it ok, that right Sepp?
