I strongly recommend you check out Grendel's album Harsh Generation. Just about every song on there is amazing. In particular are "New Flesh", "Harsh Generation", "Dirty", and "Hate This"

Heartily agreed! I'm listening to the I, Assassin CD as I type this (maybe not his best alum, but I like the atmospheric tones). Numan was a great innovator who took way too much stick in the early 80s.

Other ancient school electronic artists I enjoy are Brian Eno and Ultravox. Don't know if Cocteau Twins would be considered true electronic, but I dig them too and will just throw them out there.

One of my favorite bands is VNV Nation. They are a synth pop/futurepop band. I first got into them with their Beloved album and have been a fan ever since.

One of my other favorite bands of all time is Front 242. An older band who had their rise to fame in the 80's/early 90's. I love this music and you really can't find much to compare it to today.

Yea... too bad most people would say that is not music, just some noise. The new generations are getting even worse. They worship cursing, bitching and other crap that comes out from the big "music" labels that only care for the money...

... and they bash everything that a talented Classical or Trance composer / producer would create, no matter how many months he's actually been working on the compositions.

Its getting hard to find people that appreciate music, because of the actual music, with all the love and emotions put into making it great, and not because of the crappy, emotionless things that some guy or girl says to make him/herself look cool and like a "gangsta"' or whatever crap kids talk about these days.

I guess i'm lucky, I'm a demoscener so I've met and had beers with a ton of awesome electronic (and other) musicians. A lot of the folks that were mentioned in this thread (VNV Nation, Combichrist, KFMDM, Front 242)

We also had Front 242 at 'the alternative party' in Finland, and they played, and I got to meet them, and show them demos. It was _MASSIVE._

Anyway, demosceners make stuff and give it away, and compete to see who's the most popular/unpopular/over/underrated/loudest/most ambient/WUBWUBWUBWUBWUBviolent, etc ...
