strixo: Infamous got a few extra points from me for pulling Amon Tobin.

Anyway, I'll throw out 'Music has the right to children', Boards of Canada. Great album.

Also, 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92', Aphex Twin

Finally, the awesome 'Lunatic Harness', by mu-ziq.

EDIT: But sorry, reviewing, this is not electro, just electronic.

EDIT2: Bar 9 - Midnight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0QznJ2cjKg
:-) The sentiment from Parliament "doin it to ya in your eardrum" comes to mind.
Same here, I was already pretty psyched about Infamous and then I found out Amon was working on the soundtrack and got even more excited.

Boards of Canada is an absolutely amazing band. <3

For Aphex Twin I love the album you listed a ton, as well as I Care Because You Do.
I'm a huge electronic music lover. I listen to everything from the early days of Raymond Scott, Wendy Carlos, and Clara Rockmore up through more modern stuff like Boxcutter, Black Noise, and Burial, and everything inbetween.

My go-to favorites are Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, Amon Tobin, and Nine Inch Nails. I buy pretty much everything they put out.
Fuck you!

I'm already missing Andy Blueman and Thermostatic... :(

There is not enough Gary Numan in this thread.

ovoon: Bar 9 is dubstep isn't it? My friend linked me to that song earlier actually, I quite like it. So does my sub-woofer. :)
I feel dirty every time I listen to that tune.

Prefer his newer stuff, especially Jagged.

Also, lots of Sulpher, Chemlab, Cyanotic and etc. Yes, industrial rock, but pretty "electronic" nevertheless.

Also Calyx, Noisia, Melotron and Computorgirl. And Echo !mage.

If you want to hear some awesome video game inspired chip tunes, I recommend Fantomenk:

It is joyously fun stuff.

If we're going to include Industrial as well then my personal favorites are KMFDM (sure their last few albums after Raymond Watt left aren't quite as glorious but I still love the band) and PIG (the project Raymond made after leaving KMFDM, love it to absolute pieces).

Probably should also add Skinny Puppy and Gridlock to this list too. Skinny Puppy and KMFDM are what broke me into industrial way back when I was about 13 or so. I heard them before NIN, which is rare since the latter is much more well known I'd say. :P

It depends on your definition of electronic music. Most of the music I listen to is EBM/Industrial, which use synthesizers and the like as their primary instrument. Nothing I listen to could really be called "mainstream" :P Here are some examples of the electronic I listen to, but it is generally MUCH harder than what you would typically expect:

Combichrist
Grendel
And One
Funker Vogt

Saw God Module a few months ago with Combichrist, Aesthetic Perfection (AWESOME band) and iVardensphere (also really good). They were ok, I have a few of their albums but I felt like they didnt really put on as much of a fun show compared to the others. Great music tho.
