In case anyone is still wondering: yes, Electronic Arts has just joined Steam.
NOT only that, but all of the games, from what I've seen in the Steam forums are *DRM FREE*.
Now if they actually start releasing some of their good back catalog stuff either here or on Steam, it'll probably be the end of the world. Raining cats and dogs and all that.
Here's a list of what's on there from a screenshot I took earlier ( I live in the U.S.):

Now if they would just put the likes of the classic Command & Conquer series, the classic Need for Speed series, the classic Sim games (especially SimTower), the classic Westwood games (Dune, Kyrandia, Lands of Lore, Nox, etc), the Bullfrog Games (Dungeon Keeper), American McGee's Alice, and Clive Barker's Undying on here and/or Steam, I'll take back everything bad I've ever said about them, because they will have, in fact, redeemed themselves.
Oh yeah, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is $5 this weekend. I bought it because I've been waiting for it to drop, and you should get it too! =D
