I'm really worried he will run himself ragged and never finish DaggerXL, which would be heart-breaking to me personally. I wish he could take donations or something, Bethesda certainly aren't doing anything with the game.
DarkXL is relatively close to completion though, I believe.

So, have any of you got the free release of Daggerfall to work? I've followed their instructions to the letter (mounting the DFCD directory as -t cdrom -label Daggerfall), and the game still claims that I've inserted the wrong CD when I try to play it.

I was just dreaming heh, and in my dream L&L 1 was in 3D with the XL textures. :)

The Bethesda instructions are a joke. IIRC there's a guide on the forum that goes through it better.
Make sure you are using DOSBox 0.74 before doing anything.

There have been projects in the past to update Ultima Underworld 1+2. Unfortunately, I think they're all gathering dust...
I'd pay good money for updated versions though.

There things that id do that don't involve money too... On a more appropriate note, I was actually part of one of those teams years back.. the Twister Software one, can't even remember what happened now.

yeah, there are some instructions and pre-prepared installers on the interwebz, but they are made by mass murdering psychopathic child-molesting nazis so you can't use them.

I got Daggerfall working on Win7 64bit using the UESP wiki guide, it works.
