The demo's out on PSN and XBL. Oh man, is this game crazy. It has this cel-shaded, watercolor look that's so wonderful to look at. The proceedings are amusingly cryptic and strange. And the combat is simple, yet fluid.
I am absolutely pumped for this game.
It looks beautiful in how it's made, but holy hell, the design looks awful. Blue jeans, no shirt, shitty armor? What the hell, did they get Rob Liefeld to do this?
Played the demo for this, first of all, it is crazy looking! Second of all, it is crazy hard, I had the audacity to pick "Normal" difficulty when the default setting was Easy, ouch...

I don't know what to think of this, crazy drug induced interpretation of an apocryphal book (that may have been drug induced as well), this could basically be an artistic interpretation of art... or complete ass.

Anyone play through it?
I thought it was awful. I checked the demo out on Tycho's inability to describe it without drug imagery.

And that's pretty much it. It's an acid trip with some hack and slash. And low production values. I'll pass.
lol, I just got done playing the demo.

I can't say I finished it or anything, it's weird/stupid hard and the strange disclaimer about being based on religious texts kinda threw me off ... then Ezekiel is a woman and the bad guy of the game (or something).

I usually like to refer to myself as a devout orthodox atheist, so as you can guess I don't know shit about this kinda thing but wasn't Ezekiel supposed to be a good guy?
I have the downloaded but I have yet to play it. Same for Dungeon Siege III.
It seems one of those games I'd be willing to buy a console for, indeed....

Ezekiel is ONE of the bad guys.

It is based on the Dead Sea Scrolls. As the angel Enoch, you are tasked with bringing seven angels back to heaven by fighting them. This Japanese take on the Scrolls adds a few oddball twists; since Lucifel (known as Lucifer after the events of Paradise Lost) exists in every section of the timeline at once, he wears modern clothing, and gives Enoch a pair of designer jeans. He's even seen talking on a cell phone occasionally (and losing cell service when the story needs it). Based on interviews about the game, Lucifel is an ally of sorts because he's still the right hand of God, but he's also aware that some time in the future, he will fall and become Lucifer. It was implied that this knowledge will create a conflict of sorts later on in the game.

Also, while the demo was absolutely bananas, I've heard that it gets even crazier later on. It's very possible that some levels will take place in modern-day recreations of places like NYC, because the areas are shaped around the angel's worldly obsessions.

You are aware this is from the same creative director of Okami?

I didn't see the demo on the EU store yet, it should drop soon.
Wow, looking at gameplay that's pretty unqice graphics.
I'm gonna have to look into this one...

Also, several of the designers worked on the Devil May Cry series. Some of the combat feels pretty similar to that game, but the combat is also pretty unique.
Oh I can't wait to play this, it looks so cool!
