GOG just tweeted that XIII is about to be removed from the store. It was easy to miss the tweet among their daily sale updates.

I think we should have a single topic you can subscribe to, so the next time a game is about to go the way of Space Rangers 2, you'll have a chance to buy it before it's too late.

Here's the latest announcement, courtesy of GOG's Twitter page:

4:39 AM - 29 Dec 12 @GOGcom XIII will be removed from our catalog (stays in your account) in 2 days. Last chance to buy it for $2.99

I'll do my best to update this topic with each new announcement. :D
Maybe a warning system should be wishlisted? It would be handy to have an official section of GOG dedicated to games that are going to leave the catalog, maybe with deals to help people with buying those games?

GOG said it would go down here on the forum hours ago.
You get to realize people, that sometimes GOG gets to know some game has to be pulled down a minute before it's pulled.

Warning system of any kind just probably wouldn't work. Not for all games.

GOG gives you the curiosity to inform you on forum if there is a chance for a headsup unlike any other DD store on the planet , and it's more than enough.
I'm sure GOG is even less happy about removing games than we are. The idea isn't to bash GOG, it's to make it easy for people who might miss a random forum update or twitter announcement to favorite a single topic and have a handy single reference point for upcoming removals. :)
They could sticky the warning topics for a while, I'll give you that....
It should be on their news or owners should be notified by email, in my opinion.

I don't live neither in the forum nor on twitter.com

Maybe it's a bit short notice. But GOG is officially on the forums posting a game removal in advance. That wasn't the norm for a long time. I'm very happy with this.

I wouldn't get happy if I were you, it used to be a norm and then it stopped. I hope this means they're doing it again as opposed doing it once.

Sounds good. I've added this to my favorite topics, so hopefully you or somebody else manages to keep on top of things here.

I've managed to avoid missing out on game removal announcements thus far, but one can never be too careful, and the staff members at GOG seem much more intent on warning the entire rest of the internet than anybody reading on their own forums, so as long as somebody in the community is privy, hopefully this topic will ensure that everybody subscribed to it is as well.

No need to inform owners, as they keep it on their game shelf.
I regularly visit the forums, but miss out on a lot of threads as I don't have time to read everything.
A frontpage announcement wouldn't hurt. +1 vote.
I think anything like this needs to be emailed like their weekly alerts and on their frontpage so it dosent get lost in the forums.

That's not a reason to not get a proper warning system in place. Do we refrain from building hospitals just because they won't be able to help everyone? Of course not.

It's in GOG's interest to let as many as possible know when a game is being pulled, because the more people who know, the more people will buy the game before it disappears.
I use GOG for their ease of use approach and their collection of games. Yet I do feel that both the loss and addition of games should be front page news. Even if the warning is only a few hours, or even "due to licensing .......... has been removed" it would be nice to know when a game is on the

I get that GOG staff are working hard enough, and will try and get lost games back and I appreciate that they did place a heads up on Twitter. Yet not all of us live our lives through these mediums. Some of us still try to have a real life, and a single look at the front page should be enough to see what is happening.
