EA has released a game to de-authorize installed games which require online authorization like Red Alert 3 and Spore.
They have a tool for all games and 1 for specific games released after May 2008.
From what I've read on another website from someone who tested this is that the games don't need to be installed in order to de-authorize.
The tools don't remove the SecuROM DRM.

Anytime I see an EA game now, it automatically fails the Reputation and Fun skill check.
You see an EA game.
EA game performs a Reputation skill check
CRITICAL FAIL!

Those tools only give you back an activation you used, it keeps the DRM intact.

Much easier to not buy EA games in the first place.

Too late. Spore could have been good too.

And last activation sadly. If you formatted your HDD you cant get back one of your activation.

A little off topic but I dont understand this line of thinking. You do realize EA is mostly a Publisher right? How can "EA games" all be a failure when all "EA games" come from different developers. It's not 1997 anymore. If a game is bad it is the Developer's fault. You think Warhammer Online flopped because EA pretty much just gave Mythic millions of dollars and let Mythic work independently? Do you think EA had ANY say in the development of Spore? I doubt it. Then i think of the last game i played that was actually developed by an EA studio (Dead Space) and realize how masterful it was. Even the PC version played beautifully.
Now if you hate EA because of the whole DRM thing, then that is absolutley fair. But i just find it odd that people always blame the publisher and not the actual developer of games.
