Holy shit, I can't believe it. Thanks EA! Hallelujah! The douche bag has finally bitten off more than he can chew!
In addition to the chaosedge blog, tigsource has kept a nice running summary and list of papers and sources regarding Tim "even looks like a douchebag" Langdell here: Tigsource Edge games page.
What pisses me off MOST about this asshole is not even his trademark trolling. What REALLY pisses me off is his contant, nonstop, unrelenting bold-faced lying to try and puff himself out and make his house of cards look legitimate.
My favorite story about him is the Mythora game "published" by Edge the chaos edge guys got a hold of. An installer file made the day after the game was ordered? Printed on off the shelf blank CD? LOL

Ois: EA...
They are (at least claim to be) trying to change their image lately. So it's good to see their power being used for good for once.
edit: I've never heard about 'Tim Langdell' until now, but it all sounds deserved so far.

My thoughts exactly.
Oh, well EA pretty much has been impressing me for about a year now with a slew of new IPs, some in under-explored territory. Granted, Mirror's Edge, for example, didn't turn out to be stellar, but it was a great idea.
To me, the new evil empire is Activition or maybe Ubisoft.
Of course, EA is still addicted to DRM, but you can't win em all, I guess.
Pitty that Tim is such a moron.
Back in the day when Noah was still looking for wood to build his Ark, i did spent many hours with Fairlight, originally published by edge.

Yeah good game. Shame Tim tried everything possible to make sure the guy who developed it didn't get paid. Edge games were legendary for not paying people. It was an extremely dishonest company.
EA get some very big points for generating new IP. Whatever you may think of the titles, it's great to see them trying to be creative and giving as a new world/game setting.
For me: Activision are the new evil empire. Though it's more the actions/attitude of their CEO, bobby kotick.

Doing some reading; Edge made (or acquired) 'Bobby Bearing'? I had it, and enjoyed playing it on the C64. I was never any good at it, but it does mean there is one titles from them I know about

I didn't know that, but i guess it's not a really big surprise.
On a side note, nostalgia is some powerfull shit. As soon as i noticed this topic i just had to fire up Fairlight on my Speccy emulator. Oh, the memories...

Edge did published Bobby Bearing, at least for the Speccy.
I was/am partial to Spindizzy myself, so i never gave BB a fair try...

The story about the "sold out" Racers game is even better.
Oh how I would love to be the judge for this case, I would pretty much demand proof from him that his company is still producing, publishing and actually selling products tied to the trademarks. And I'd only give him a day or so to present it in court too.
Lol. I hope EA strips him of everything he's worth. Which, admittedly, isn't much.
On a side note, Edge is still being sold on the Japanese iTunes store =) That's funny actually, when you consider Langdell's claims that EDGE Games are world famous and sell games everywhere that games are played.
If that were the case, why hasn't Edge been pulled from ALL iTune locations? Hmm. The guy is a grade A jackass.

Well now you're just being silly, who ever heard of JAPANESE people playing games???
Yes! It's about time. We need to find more ways to use the EA legal machine for good. It could rival superman.
Also check out the edgegames online store here....

Notice the game titled Mythora? Is it a real game? Now check out this article here to read
up on the controversy surrounding this game. It's very inteteresting.

Spindizzy was fun, once you got past the monochrome blueness of it (just like 95% of all speccy games:P). I got my copy on "Your Sinclair" covermount tape  Can't say I ever heard of Bobby Bearing...
Speccy games never looked good, but the playability of the games were 125%...mostly.
Hell, I still fire up my rubber-keyed 48k to play "Elite" once in a while (love that keyboard overlay for the controls :D)
C64 cheated. It had 48k RAM just like the speccy, but to make it appear better, they added the ROM value to it :-\ Sounds like Commodore and Edge should get in bed, wot? :P
lol, my old school-friend had that "Quo Vadis" game for his C64...and never got very far with the riddles. Somehow, finding out it was a scam anyway makes my day, in a vague Schadenfreuden way...:P

Catshade: See this blog here: http://chaosedge.wordpress.com/ . All hilarious account of Langdell and his edgy crusade. :D

Although I hear about Langdell for the first time, all this shit about him is very interesting.
If it is all true, I'd kill him slowly and painfully. (no, he doesn't deserve to commit harakiri)
