Actual playable sections of Elder Scrolls Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 thanks.

lukipela: E3 is crap.

Its just a place for a 1 or 2 decent dev teams to showcase stuff that wont be released for two years. When it is released, it wont look anything like it did at E3.
Not true.
Serious Sam 3 is shipping this summer.
:D
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Nintendo's new console. I expect my reaction to be a mix between slightly surprised, moderately excited and mildly disappointed.

GameRager: Hmm.....I wonder if any new DNF news will be peddled there?
Sure, they'll be announcing DNF2.
Now that PAX will have a pre conference just for industry I predict E3 dies for a second time.

close: it will be DNF part 2

episodal release cycle for the win!

(part 1 will actually be no more than the initial segments they had on display earlier)
E3 is mostly for consoles so I don't have much excitement built up about it. That said some cool PC game announcements would be nice.

I know you don't want to hear this, but come to the dark side, we have Red Dead Redemption (I'm the guy who bought a Gamecube solely to play Metroid and it was worth it) and every time I load up my Gold account there's new shit. Hulu is there now (don't care, but it's nice for anyone who has Plus) and I saw some History channel stuff today, I bet it's 1080p goodness!

Seriously, I don't know what your free time is like, but kicking back with a glass of scotch and my XBox is actually very easy and cool. I sit on my super comfy, leather couch and pretend my HDTV has a resolution matching its size (it doesn't, but the liquor helps). No time wasted unless you have to walk your ass to the console to switch discs (which should be fixed!). And if you have folks about, there's more co-op experiences than you can shake a stick at!
How does an announcement that'll let everyone know about an announcement a few weeks from now which will tell us about another announcement announcing the date of a really super duper mega announcement about a new publisher from GoG sound?

Also I think we'll see some more stuff about The Old Republic again like we did last year, except this time they'll show more specifics about it and show off features that aren't just another staple of MMO's, like the holy trinity they showed last time.

I bought a PS1 and PS2 eventually and I will surely buy a PS3 eventually. I'm just in no hurry because I have more games than time already on the PC.

Buy the console with a working online system, Sony's has been broken as hell off and on all year. Before this, I would have said lean towards PS3 just to avoid disc switching on the few games that actually require it (hello Castlevania), but that is actually kind of rare to have to do more than once per playthrough and the Live service is pretty kick ass (or at least for what I spend on it I find it amazingly worth it, I would not have thought so the first time I got coerced into buying a Gold sub).

The 360 has very few exclusives if you have a gaming PC though, same as the original Xbox. The PS3 has a lot more games on it I can't get already on my main gaming platform.

Well, for Ratchet and Clank and God of War 3 (or the first two in HD) I'd say sure. Uncharted 2 is probably worth it, Killzone 2/3 is hyped up bullshit by nearly all counts, don't fall for it.

Don't discount the Live Arcade offerings. If you have all the good ones on Steam, then cool, but that's where a ton of the amazing co-op lives. Also, games like Limbo are not to be missed.

Personally I think the controls on the 360 are better to use than games on the PC. This applies only to games that are on both systems though, not things like exclusives or original Xbox games.

Mainly cus if you want to play online on an original Xbox game, you'll have to play the PC version now. And believe me, there are lots of great games to be found on XBLA and the Indie Games section. Having a Gold account gets you some nice discounts too on there that almost save you the amount that you spend on a Gold subscription, since discounts are usually only offered on the good games they sell there, and Indie Games are generally in the 80 - 240 microsoft points range.

Now don't get me wrong, if you prefer playing games on the PC, that's fine, but think about people who are just trying to make ends meet or don't have enough allowance money to buy a gaming quality PC. I personally have never had a 360 red ring so I can't comment on that, and I've had one for over 2 years now.

If you did they'd repair it for free, pay to ship it both ways, and give you a free Gold sub for the time you went without your 360.

This is way better than what Sony or Nintendo does, trust me, if something has to happen, you want your 360 to RROD.
