Is anyone else intrigued by this game? The thought of having linked gameplay between the PS3 and EVE Online strikes me as a genius move. I know details about it are still iffy, but from what I gathered, it's basically the ground combat version of EVE Online.

This is the type of integration between consoles and PC's I would love to see more of in the future. If this game turns out to be like the previews say, this could allow for a brand new type of warfare to EVE, considering corporations can recruit console players to fight on their behalf.
I swear just a few months ago Dust was billed as a 360 exclusive...maybe it always has been a Ps3 exclusive and i was just not reading or comprehending it right. But either way im interested, being a PS3 owner, Dust looks kick ass. Just waiting to hear if there is going to be a monthly bill.

According to this it's going to be free to play but have (big shock) micro-transactions. Probably content packs or such, nothing we aren't used to already.
Will it have shooter gameplay or more RPG style? And will there be AI enemies to fight and not just more player combat? And will the interface not need a Master's Degree to comprehend like Eve does?

The footage shown at E3 made it look terribly boring, so count me out. Hell, the only footage that interested me that wasn't on the Vita was for BioShock Infinite, and that's not even a Sony exclusive...

It looks like an EVE version of MAG.

So just shoot reload repeat? Dammit.

Well, MAG was actually a fun shooter, with epic battles as you got higher level to fight in the 256 player battles. If they stick to that style of gameplay and merge it with EVE Online, it could be something really awesome.

If they add in some ai enemies(not bots but different enemies a player can hunt for missions/etc.) i'd possibly get into it.

It looks like it's just multiplayer only, like MAG.

I used to love Earth and Beyond when it was out as players could go their own way and fight enemies and do everything else in Eve & much more....now they want to ad yet another multiplayer pvp only game to the market...sigh.
I really can't wait for Dust 514, will be great that more people can play in the EvE universe like PS3 players who don't have the attention span to understand the intricacies of the EvE Online system.

You don't need master's degree for eve online. At least last time I checked I did not have one.

I meant all the charts and figures.....too much for me to handle in my state....too much to keep track of. I liked E&B because it made it all simpler and had enemy ai to fight and not just other players...but then Sony closed it....:(

I think you are missing the point. If I've understood everything correctly, this means that PC players are the commanders, and PS3 players are the grunts. The actions the PS3 armies do affect the PC game.

Also, laughing at the rage over at PC Gamer comments on the news article. This won't stay PS3 exclusive, they are likely testing the waters with the PS3. I expect a 360/PC port within a year of release. They also seem to not like the idea of players being able to buy their victories, which makes me wonder if they missed the entire point of EVE over the years.
