I played the demo on XBox Live, if you pay for Gold (which is dirt cheap) you get access to blazing fast servers to download demos. I play most demos there, since it's Steam on PC I probably would have bought it there as well, if I'd though it was any good.

Not gonna buy it. Not gonna play it even if it was given to me for free. First b/c I hate what 4e has done to Ed Greenwood's lore that he put his heart & soul into for 1e-3e (he's the creator of the Forgotten Realms, which is the setting for the Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Neverwinter Nights games, Eye of the Beholder series, Drizzt novels, and this Daggerdale game), and 4e rules are like a piss poor World of Warcraft imitation. This when 2e or 3.5e rules were an awsome (and for me personally, preferred) alternative to WoW.
But even if it weren't for my gaming principles, this game looks weak compared to previous AD&D titles, and the rest of the competition; both old & new.

revial: "Wizards of the Coast is excited to offer another great Dungeons & Dragons play experience," said Liz Schuh, Brand Director at Wizards of the Coast. "This exhilarating game will be a thrill for both current fans of the brand and new players alike."
lol
Poor Gary is rollin' in his grave right about now.
What's worse is the quote on the cover of the game box: "the way Dungeons & Dragons was meant to be played!"lol

You gotta think how they did DDO, Demon Stone, BG DA 1 and 2 as well as Champions of Norrath.
They could do much worse with these games then they have.
And I'm a fan of Drizzt, and Forgotten Realms. First game I got when I came here was BG: ToSC

It's the way you wrote it... "dirt cheap"... "blazing fast"...
P.S. "Dirt cheap" is a lot more expensive than free, and adds up. Six years of Xbox Live is $300, no small amount. Add that to a launch day console and it goes from $400 to $700, more than the PS3 ever was.

Umm, compared to the cost of games or even beers after work, I can safely say that 300 dollars over 6 years is basically nothing. It costs less than buying one movie ticket per month. P.S. And blazing fast is the only way I can describe those servers, nothing else can max my broadband connection, pulling down a multi-gig demo and playing it in the time it takes to bake a frozen pizza is pretty fast.

except in that time i've had 3 ps3's due to their YLOD and the wonders of Sony's customer service where I have to explain every time that as an EU citizen they cant charge me £140 since my warrenty lasts 5 years not 90 days thank you very much. If I hadn't known the law my PS3 would have cost me just as much or more than 6 years of live gold.. and who on earth pays full cost for that amazon sells 12 months for half price every 6 months!

The sooner Atari loses the license, the better. They do small downloadable games and failing MMOs, now. Pretty much every major publisher out there could aim for larger projects that they're not shoving out the door to stave off bankruptcy.

There's nothing wrong with a smaller project, it's just that this one seems to suck. Also, I wouldn't hold your breath on the license thing, Hasbro owns WotC and Atari, both.
