A bit hard on them, they were working on a big 3rd patch but LucasArts halted all development before it could be finished. LA just was to eager to cut the life support of that game. There is even a HQ patch that replaces the movies and sounds with high quality versions.
At least the community managed to get the game in shape.

For some reason Obsidian has removed the character creation from the previous 2 game and also it is on STEAM which I hate the most.

I didn't see any issues with the demo, that doesn't prove anything, but I have seen demos with glitches before.
They're telling a pretty cohesive story that relies on the backstory and attributes of some of the characters. That may disappoint you, and that's fine, but they may very well have had way better reasons than sheer laziness to do so.

Isn't it ironic, Steam and Blizzard have made PC gaming way more laden with DRM than even consoles (which have always been locked down) and fans seem to love them for it? Yeah yeah, flamewar inc.

What is there to blame about it? It's a great game.

Are you saying that I won't be able to customize my own character like I could in the other DS games, will this include skill customization, cause great LAN fun was had in DS1 when after leveling melee warriors high up you could go pick up magic and grind away on semi hard mobs with fireballs while you just stood there taking damage.

Nah you won't be and you'll be able to choose a specific character.

it's like one of those LOTR action games or the old Dark Alliance/Fallout console games.

each of the 4 characters only has 6 combat skills (split between 2 weapon types, each character, and they are hard locked to each character) and 3 passive skills and there are no options to alter the character's physical appearance at all. you would think that Obsidian would open up character customization a little bit more than that, seeing as how most of the game looks like it was built using the NWN2 editor ...

I would say: stay away unless your looking for a co-op party game to rent for a date night with that special gamer in your life, but the co-op seems to be entirely online with no option for a two player sit down (unless your playing on two Xboxs).

Let me go on record as saying I hated the first Dungeon Siege so bad I never tried the 2nd one. It felt like it played itself and it was boring and generic as I could imagine.

In this demo (tried it again as the chick in the demo tonight) I at least liked the conversation options and had fun exploring the map, etc. For the first time ever, DS combat wasn't tedious and boring, as well. This game could really be good on PC if there's good support for mods and maps.

Now, I think Hunted is probably the better game between the two, but they're both above average from what I can tell.

What makes you say that? Local co-op is as easy as the 2nd player hitting the start button once you're in-game.

I'm kind of looking forward to it. Played the demo, wasn't super excited, but seemed interesting enough. More like a slower and slightly more open Marvel Ultimate Alliance and less like Dungeon Siege. Which I actually consider a good thing. Graphics were notably unimpressive, however.

I think my Obsidian fanboyism will probably win me over. And George Ziets is the creative lead. So maybe I'll get to eat a god. Who knows?
