I buy anything with the Obsidian name on it. If I'm a fanboy of any development team it's them.

"What's the difference?"
"Hot distractions have more fire!"

Heck4life!
I wonder how much content they will cut out of the game before launch.
I have yet to forgive them for KOTOR 2 as you can see.

Blame LucasArts for that, not Obsidian.

Steven Heck. He has an absolutely wonderful mindset :)
Lazarus is mentioned earlier in the thread to do with DS1, I played DS1 years and years ago and it doesnt ring a bell, can some kind soul enlighten me please?
I watched the gameplay videos for this last night, I couldn't decide if I was watching Torchlight or Diablo 3 with souped up graphics. At any rate, this game has the potential to be an action RPG to be remembered. Of course most action RPGs utterly fail in both the story and longevity department, so we'll see.

Lazarus is a fan made Ultima 5 remake using DS1 engine.
Hmm, was it this game that does not allow the multiplayer in campaign? I remember playing the second game three times through in LAN :) Fun times.

I was under the impression that publishers were doing everything they possibly could to kill off LAN gaming?
I played the demo tonight, it wasn't too bad. It had companion points (as in Mass Effect pick the obvious choices to make them like/hate you) and it looked some some choice as to how to progress in the main storyline. There was one optional side quest (obvious with the whole WOW exclamation point over the head thing), so presumably you will be able to mess around.

The combat was very much button mashing, but there's a lot of different ways to focus on your skills during leveling (of course, maybe it's possible to max them all, no idea). Tons of items drop but they have a pretty easy way to compare everything to what you're wearing. New items are even marked as New until you've taken a look, so you don't have to scroll through everything to find new stuff.

Performance was good, the controls handled fine. I haven't made it through playing the mage-style character yet.

Demo was on XBox 360 (no idea if there's a Steam one yet).
I got it downloaded too, I'll be on in a little bit to try it out.

*edit* girrr, damn wife stole the 360 to play vesperia.

I really, really liked Dungeon Siege but DS2 was just balls...

I still have not forgiven obsidian for all the bugs they never fixed in KOTOR 2.

If only we could all be so lucky to have SO's that liked to play.
