treedoor: Hello GoGites, and the GoG overlord

I've come to say that I've been trying to install DS1 these passed few days, but no matter what I try to do to overcome the compatibility issues I can not get this game to work.

I am here in my sadness, and made even more sad by the fact that GoG still does not have Dungeon Siege available for download.
which OS are you running?

The games works fine with my Win7 (32bit), but I'd recommend:

1) I'm gonna assume you already tried changing the compability modes from windows.
2) Install the official patch from here: http://www.gaspowered.com/ds1/content.php?loc=downloads.
3) This is the solution that seems to work for most people (the post made by KKeene): http://www.siegetheday.org/?q=node/1304#comment-10956

4) If it works you may want to try this to force widescreen support: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/dungeon-siege

To be perfectly honest, the only good thing about Dungeon Siege in my opinion is that mod which recreates Ultima 5 using the DS1 engine.

Truly awesome.
Well I got it to work somehow. I still would have much rather supported the game through GoG though.

Each time I begin playing it it's almost impossible for me to put it down. Luckily I have some reponsibilities in life that keep me from playing 24/7
