Hey guys, HUGE Dungeon Keeper fan here, really looking forward to War For The Overworld but I have a question about the original.

I found a download on this site for 7 bucks and I haven't been able to play it for about 2 years so I'm really pumped to of found a good download only problem is I'm not sure about the compatibility. Will it work on my computer? I'm using Windows 7. It doesn't mention it as compatible in the description, but is it compatible? Or is there some way around it?

Thanks heaps =]

It actually does mentions it as compatible with Win 7 in description. ;-)

It works on Win7 for me and for most people, still it's PC gaming and it's not warranted it will work for everyone.
It should work, though, and even if you will have some trouble, people here are quite willing and able to help.

To make this better, it's not 7 bucks, it's only 6. ;-)

Works for me but I use Alt-R to clean up the image a little.

It looks like your program might not be compatible with Windows 7. If changing the settings doesn't fix the problem, go to the program manufacturer's website to see if there is an update for the program.

It's not just the dos version running through dosbox?
I have Win7 and it works for me...

It is, the first review says so. (Several reviews complain about GOG being "lazy" for using the DOS version, just like SimCity.)

It should be HIGHLY compatible with XP through Windows 8 (including 7), but in the interest of transparency, do note this is the DOS version of the game running in DOSBox (to ensure compatibility), and it does not come with Deeper Dungeons currently. You can make it look much nicer by pressing Alt-R in the game, though.

It is, that's why the game should run on pretty much any system. :P

It should work just fine, works both on my win7 and win8 system. If it happens to not work, here's the source port which will most definitely work fine. (still needs the original game I believe)

I think that discussion was about the Dungeon Keeper (Gold) Windows version. The GOG version is the DOS version, running in DOSBox. DOS versions running in DOSBox are less susceptible to new Windows version quirks/compatibility problems than old Win9x games are, as they are running under an emulator.
It's also worth mentioning that if GOG say that a game works on an OS then they will provide really good support in the event you have problems.
Does DK in DOSBox still have that problem of the mouse cursor flying across to the border of the map and getting stuck? Funny because Syndicate Wars (same engine) has the same problem
Thanks for all the replies guys. I have no cash on my card at the moment, so I'm getting it tomorrow, I'll let you know if it works then. Also not having Deeper Dungeons and what not doesn't really bothered me, I've never actually played them before.

H-Diddy: so I'm getting it tomorrow
Quick word of advice. Weekend sales on GOG start on fridays (in ~21 hours) so even though I doubt it will be Bullfrog Classics, it might be worth it to wait until the sales begin.
