Check it on Steam. I saw it earlier, thought it was a mistake.

If it's true, Fujek will be very happy. :-P
Realy? I wouldn't have thought it was the sort of game that would work F2P. Then again the amount of DLC might make it work.
Doesn't really matter. It was 2.5€ on Steam in the Christmas sale.

Nowadays that game is all about DLC anyway. It goes a bit too far in that aspect.
They say it's free to play, but on the Steam page for the game you still have to pay for it. I guess I'd be a bit annoyed considering that I've paid for the game and barely played it (guess I lack the people to play it with, or they are too high a level) but such is life.
It shows as free on the search box but has a price on the game page.

It only takes about 30 minutes to boost you to Level 70 :)

But I have 2 more characters in the mid 30th to play "normal" :).
no one is talking about it being free on the Dungeon Defenders forum. It must be a bug, surely? they wouldnt shaft all us paying customers like this would they?
Interesting.. Didn't think it be a game that fit F2P at all. I should really play more of this game.
With the amount of DLCs they've released, I wouldn't be surprised tbh.
Even if it say's free when you find it, it's not on the "Free to Play" games list.

Not yet, at least.
More than likely it's just a server error. Sometimes games get incorrectly assigned app ids, prices, or even thumbnails. The "free" reference (note, it's not "free to play" like the F2P MMOs) could well have come from any of the related DLC that was temporarily offered for free or from the demo.

I guess there's a slight possibility of it being an indication of an upcoming free weekend, but as for the game going F2P? Don't get your hopes up unless Trendy Ent. actually make an announcement to that effect.

Happened to me with Team Fortress 2.

I'd be more than happy to get one of your characters to Level 70/74, depending on how much time you're willing to invest (Zero to 70 takes roughly an hour, 74 roughly five hours), so that this shouldn't be any concern.

Actually, I'm not quite this sure. They could intend to try and rake in more money through DLC, as they're partly going this way already (~17 DLCs soon).

Yes, you should! ;)
Join the GOG Dungeon Defenders group and provide me with some company!

Fortunately I already had around 600 hours in TF2 when it went f2p xD

Will take you up on that offer, maybe this weekend, depending on the spare time I have. I'll also join the group ASAP.

Neat!
What class are you going to use and what's your time frame on weekends?

Bodkin: There is such thing?
Yes, darknath created it a short time before his RL caught up on him.
What class/level/build are you using?
