Hello! Why is there no Dune series?
I assume the Rights to the property are the biggest issue.
It's almost "wrong" to refer to them as a series. The two games were so different. We'd love to see them, I don't think I ever actually managed to win as the Ordos, that sabateur was shit, and we ended in a stalemate.

Then there was Dune 2000, I think EA had that, but not sure.
They are also related to the Command and Conquer series, which hasn't turned up yet WITHOUT rights issues!

There's also 'Frank Herbert's Dune' by Cyro but people will probably hurts me for reminding them! (it wasn't very good, by all accounts)

Also, Emperor: Battle for Dune
Dune 2 was a great game in its time and I spend many hours playing it (still got the original CD) but I think its didn't age well and its pretty unplayable in this age.

There is a browser version (as well as an Android one)

There were 5 Dune games actually, the best ones being Dune 1 and Emperor: Battle for Dune .

Ooh, this looks promising, do you need anything to run it or is it just install and go?

Haven't tested it yet, but according to the webpage its fully Windows Vista/7/8/XP compatible.

The installation archive weighs around 471MB so it should be fully self-contained.

Yeah, I here the Frank Herbert Estate is difficult to deal with lately, they're probably sore after the reception of the Brian Herbert Dune books and have circled the wagons on the franchise.
I'm pretty sure there's an open-source remake of Dune 2 that's freeware and working on modern systems, just can't remember where you download it from.

Awesome, I'll probably snag it then. Thanks for the link. :)

I admit there are some things with Brian's work I do like, but for the most part I think the poor reception is not unwarranted.
