Which character do you like more, Duke Nukem or Serious Sam?

For me, it's Serious Sam. His one liners make me laugh. I particularly like in SS3 when he picks up a sledgehammer and says "Gimme some skulls and one of these and it's a party".

I prefer the Duke, honestly. Sam never really interested that much as a character. I don't know why, he just didn't.

As a character, definitely Nukem.

Serious Sam is at least 6.48% better. And he can run. He can run Forever.

Serious Sam is just silly. While Duke3D was a game with realistic environments and a serious tone that was peppered with some humor every once in a while. I detest the constant comparisons between the two franchises. There is also the whole horde of enemies thing. AFAIK that is just a myth with regard to older games. Doom and Duke3D are often brought up as games that are supposed to have that, but atleast in the latters case I am not seeing it.

This isn't character related so maybe it doesn't belong in here, but Sam's environments are SOOOO BOOOORING! Its the same stupid thing after another. Duke goes into the red light district, he goes to space, he hits a Japenese restaurant, he even goes to the White House (in an expansion). Plus Duke always takes time out to offer a few bucks to the strippers. God bless Duke!

I need to add that Sam also too closely resembles the Kurt Russel character in Big Trouble in Little China. I dig Kurt Russel the most but that movie sux.

Sam, for sure. I've never seen Duke as anything other than an unlikable asshole. He's self-absorbed, he quotes action movies, and he's obsessed with tits. I guess that's all supposed to be endearing? I never got it. I even like Caleb and Lo Wang, it's just Duke that's always irritated me. I guess Sam is kind of the same sort of character, but for some reason I find him a lot more likable. His bravado always seemed more gleeful and less grating. Are you implying that Duke's environments weren't drab and repetitive?
