Pheace: DNF price is dropping like a rock though, shortly before release and now after even more it seems. From the threads I read people are generally either not so impressed or seem to think it's ok/fine for a Duke game (mostly working on Nostalgia).
I think a lot of people are just happy to say they own Duke Nukem Forever. That's something a lot of people never thought they would be able to say.

There's free market, and then there's price gouging. Yes games aren't necessities but I feel EVERYTHING you buy should be subject to price gouging laws. They can't afford to buy another car for the managers of the store? Well tough titties.

And the next thing - politicians investigating shops to bring prices down? Are you serious? Perhaps in the Soviet Union. Politicians aren't autocrats, they have very clearly defined powers as to what they can or cannot do. Your average politician doesn't have more power than that of the vote. If "they" wanted to bring prices down, this would have to be done through legal means. Your equivalent - going through both houses and being signed by the President. And what is this bill going to say? We just spent a week on the job naming THE CORRECT price for Duke Nukem Forever. Budget cuts be damned. Free market be damned.

And yes, if free market means gouging is acceptable then screw it and regulate it. Or are you more for stores making obscene profits at the expense of everyone else? As to how: Pass a blanket bill saying anything charged for in a RETAIL store that's new(as in not antique/etc) would have a ratio limit of how much above cost they could charge for it.....say double what they paid(adjusting for other store costs like utilities and employees)and no higher. Then have a gov't agency either created or made to acommodate policing this.

GameRager, I don't want to be a dick, but it is apparent that you have absolutely no grasp of politics, economics, or the rule of law, so let's just leave it at that.

I never said my words were fact or possible to implement easily or at all.......but IMO price gouging stinks, and instead of debating me about it you ad hominem me with credibility attacks, which also stinks.

But, upon reading the review you linked, there's this:

"Don’t expect a miracle. Duke is still the hero we love, but struggles to keep up with modern times. Crude humor and classic weaponry keep him in the game."

Okay, so juvenile crap is what is keeping him in the game, and not the gameplay. Yeah, I'm not really trusting that review beyond the fact that the reviewer is 16 years old.

Doesn't sound like they loved it to me.

Sounds like another fairly generic FPS, just with an ungeneric main character. Judging the game for what it actually is, it's probably no more than average.

So you can stop salivating now, DN:F unfortunately can't hold a candle to DN3D. As I expected.

2. They still gave it other good remakrs and a good score

3. Read 1-2 again

4. Your opinion, and if i'm the biggest DNF fan ever you have to be the biggest DN3D nostalgia goggled fanboy ever.

Package should arrive soon... Cannot wait for this.

I love how main recurring theme of some of the reviews is that it is outdated game in the new world. What, did you expect Modern Warfare 3 style game? Oh noes!

Well, I'm enjoying it so far. I've played about 3 hours now, killed two of the bosses. I'm taking my time, there plenty of stupid little stuff to stick around and do, and it raises the ego cap so some of it's worth doing.

The two gun limit hasn't been all that troubling to me so far. Although there are points when two weapons doesn't have enough ammo. I think that might be just me wasting it on environment stuff when there's periods without enemies.

My one complaint so far, well not really a complaint more of an eye roller; physics based "puzzles" and some of the seesaw variety at that.
