In a genre where Call of Duty is considered perfection I wear my minority opinion with pride.

Agreed, I admit it has its flaws, but after playing through it in about 8-9 hours today I had a good amount of fun and enjoyed what content was in it.

Seeing as Gearbox has dlc planned for it, I'm curious what they're going to be adding to it, whether it's just multiplayer content or maybe some more single player maps or something. Maybe an homage to Duke3D maps with secret areas or something?

According to this article there are hints to what the DLC will be in the demo files.
Namely:
DLC Pack #1 contains four new weapons - a minigun, a "noob tube", a sticky grenade and a "BFG" - the latter of which was a big plasma weapon found in Doom and Quake.

DLC Pack #2 consists of three new deathmatch maps - "EDF Base", "LKR" and "Map 3", presumably for the game's multiplayer mode.

DLC Pack #3 includes 15 new single-player maps, arm wrestling, the "Impregnader" weapon and a karaoke machine.
Well, looking forward to the 3rd pack if the info is to be trusted.

I rarely care enough about multiplayer to buy additional stuff for it (unless I've got a couple friends nagging me to buy maps for months, so regret buying those Halo 3 map packs and even Halo I was nagged into buying for months).

Anyway, pack 2 is meh for me, and pack 1 might be interesting depending on how they implement the weapons in-game and with the weapon switching mechanic.

predcon: @Gersen

My "people expected" comment wasn't directed at you personally. If it doesn't apply to you, than don't say anything about it. It's not all about you.
Doh, I was answering you comment on what "people expected" not on what I expected, if you don't want peoples to answer your comments maybe you shouldn't post them on a forum.

hedwards: Personally, I'm glad I didn't because it's actually got some innovation in places and so far the game has been a lot more fun than it has any right to be.
By curiosity, where ? I haven't see anything in the game that I always saw either in the first one, in HL or in any other shooter released since.

liquidsnakehpks: nice i dont think most people were angry or said that the game was utterly crappy. the only reason im disappointed is that the game is only average[7/10], i was wanting it to be an classic but i guess as fan, im happy that game finally got made.
so how was the multiplayer? worth it?
Average should be 5/10, right?
Like the average in the 1-10 range.

Count me in the minority aswell.
I must admin that the "DNF is receiving bad reviews because Activision and EA are paying reviewers to "kill" a potential CoC/MoH concurrent" conspiracy theory is pretty funny :)
The funny continues. According to Jim Sterling on twitter Destructoid have now been Blacklisted by 2K PR.

Article on the PR firm saying bad review = no more review copies. Then a grovelling appology. Link

That's the 360 version. The PC version fared better at a whopping 3.5/10!

So bad they don't even bother doing a video review.

This bit is especially ironic:

It’s cool to not like something…no need to be mean about it. But, it shows u…it’s easier to b funny when being mean
