I don't know, I've got the demo and I think it's pretty fun. Granted, I've been playing Duke since shortly after the first set came out and followed it on its way, but the elements are definitely there for a good game.

The demo itself is a demo and I can see from it that the elements I want are going to be there. Even if it does suck to play with the standard keyboard and mouse rather than controller.
It took Netflix a while to compile its collection of games. I think that OnLive will be largely the same thing. The main problem with it right now is that ISPs in the US suck and the ones in this part of the country are wholly unsuitable for gaming period. It's amazing to me how playable things are when I wouldn't be able to handle my own in competitive play due to the latency issues.

Imagine if we had an ISP like the one used in the Dot Hack universe...seamless FULL VR immersion with nary a hitch(beyond viruses running amok that is and putting kids in comas...lol)

I have some of those PS2 games, should probably play them sometime...

Some of them are very hard to find in stores used nowadays...I think part 4(of the first four games, not G.U.) is going for like 35--40 bucks in stores now. And the others are going from 20-30.

If the demo of the game that went gold before the demo released is buggy and old, I have little faith for the full game.

I went back and played the first level of DN3D again just now. How anyone can think DNF compares to DN3D at all is beyond me.

Again, these are just your opinions, and bad demos can happen.

Fact: DNF is more linear than DN3D.
Fact: DNF only allows you to carry 2 firearms at once.
Fact: DNF restores your ego if you hide behind a rock like a coward.
Fact: If you care about giving good impressions, you release an up to date demo.

Doesn't sound like a game anyone should purchase. I'd say I would rather play through the entirety of DN3D again than play DNF, but that suggests that a)DN3D is bad or b)DNF has any redeeming qualities whatsoever, both of which are false.

I don't think your reasons are bad for being cautious. I certainly am not pre-ordering, for instance. But writing it off completely at this stage is shortsighted. Even if it ends up being average it could still be good fun down the road at some point.

It's the demo....of course it's gonna be linear......the full game won't be this way.
2 firearms is still good, as weapons are placed enough so you can swap as needed.
I agree the ego needs to be tweaked a bit but it's not necessarily a bad system.
I agree...they didn't. Blame them, not me or the full game.

Most demos are linear by default.
It isn't D3D........if you can't handle it then don't play it.
They finished the game and brought it to market, they didn't make most of the game.

Oh please GameRager, stop trusting blindly Randy Pitchford. Just because he says the game is gonna be great, doesn't mean it's true.
And honestly, this demo is one of the worst thing I ever played.

I don't blindly trust him...how is saying wait until the full game comes out to pass judgment & me telling people to stop talking about the demo as if it's a fair representation of the full game blind trust?

If the game sucks I will admit it and rant about it....the demo is old however and buggy, so i'm waiting until the full game to cast full judgment, and for now i'm keeping an open mind.

I played the DNF demo a couple times, and wasn't all that impressed. I understand demos aren't a true representation of the game, and with something like this, the hype is huge, which makes a demo such as this feel lackluster at best. I will likely be willing to give the game a chance, pending reviews.
