So I just paid extra for shipping my Steam key on a piece of plastic by preordering yesterday. YAAAaaaaay...?
Heh, I thought you meant Duke 3D. If that was the case they'd release it broken.

drmlessgames: I prefer the mac appstore to steam.
That will depend on how they handle the port. If the port is released on Steam with Steamworks integration the App Store version might use Steam as well; as silly as that sounds this has previously happened to Steamworks games on Direct2Drive and GamersGate and the like. Bear that in mind if you are considering buying it through the App Store once it turns up there--especially since buying through Steam might be cheaper at that time.

If you buy it at the Apple App Store, it's 50% more expensive because it has the authentic Apple Feel.

GameRager: And shiny aluminum everywhere in the game.
BALLS OF CHROME.
Always bet on Duke.

ALWAYS.
Duke is too good for Japan on Steam it seems. Never mind. If I ever want to get it, I can do so from GamersGate with bluecoins. But I won't be pre-ordering that's for sure.
it will be a shame if i cant to buy this game on steam :( ....maybe will go back to playing farmville in facebook...........
I just hope this just doesnt end up to be a modern day Daikatana

If it's released on the appstore, it cant have steamworks or any 3rd party external API, it's against the appstore clauses.
when in doubt... stall.

I usually wait after release when something has failed to impress me. Eventually, you'll even get better deals for it. If you have other games to kill your time with, you shouldn't have a problem waiting and if the game dissapoints, you dodged that bullet.

Oh right, I forgot about that. I wonder what they will do then; I'd imagine the online functionality uses Valve's servers since the store page mentions scoreboard integration and whatnot. Previously some Steamworks games have been released elsewhere with Steamworks removed but that was at the cost of all online functionality.

GameRager: Waiting is fine and all, but so is supporting the developers so that more games can be produced......I mean getting a good deal is fine and all, but if you wait until it's like 10 bucks and buy it used you're not really supporting them. Just my two cents, for what it's worth.
Well, you decide how long you wait and what kind of games you wish to support. If the reviews and the word of mouth come in and the game sucks, then they're not deserving of your money. If the game is okeyish but not that wonderful, you can always wait until you find a deal that feels good for you. It doesn't have to be on the second hand $1.00 bin when it can always be at 25%-50% discount. Games take their time getting to the $10 mark and it's up to you to decide when the price is right for you.

GameRager: So why haven't you posted in the official DNF thread yet? o.0 :P
Ballllllls of STEEL

We have some trailers posted on page 9-10 and also a link to where you can use your FAC code to be able to get free artworks and eventually the FAC demo.
Eh, I'm not really interested in the game. And my system won't be able to run it.
