Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

Morten79: Where do you live and what kind of internet do you have?
Its unbelievable i know, but there are really people around which a) have not enough money and b) living in a country without payable Internet access everywhere, even if this country is in the top 10 of wealthy countries.

stg83: Next up: Troll Quest 1+infinity.

Morten79: Troll's Tale instabuy :P
Ha!, so its an actual game, the description makes its sound real interesting.
Troll Quest: A Hi-Hes burning experience
Troll Quest is a misadventure game which requires minimal typing, using the mouse to select from several possible memes which are available on the internet and posting them by pressing enter to incite console flame wars. :P

Arkose: The Windows 95 version runs windowed and can expand to any given resolution so that's a big help for multi-tasking and seeing more of the city at once.

Anyone buying this with memories of the Windows 95 version would probably be disappointed by its restrictions.
Yeah, that's true. What I do find kind of interesting in games like the win95 version of SimCity 2000 or Civilization 2, is the fact that them running windowed enables them to fully utilize modern wide screens, unlike most other games.

On a weird sidenote: That download set off my antivirus software, though I get the feeling that it was a false positive. Good to know that fans are dedicated enough to make fixes like that. Not surprising, though, considering the massive SimCity fanbase.

Caladus: Well at least we know what's the most popular. So far : Might and Magic and Simcity.
So far it's:

1. Might and Magic 6-pack
2. SimCity 2000
3. Zork Anthology

Buenro-games: Thank you. Too bad I missed my chance to complete King and Police Quest series. Oh well, much appreciated stg83.

Karma313th: It's possible they'll come by again.

There was a mention of the RHPS "let's do the timewarp again" bit in reference to the sale, so...It's possible it'll cycle like the Insomnia sale did.
But TET said (forgot where) that won´t be there a second run.
Good lord. It's been at 0:59 for the past 10 minutes.

I'm off to play some games for a few hours ;)
I predict that 1990 will be Railroad Tycoon.

Edit: nvm, Railroad Tycoon is not on GOG :(.

I must say, I find this promotion extremely annoying… And the fact that it's after midnight at my place does not help, so I will just ignore it completely. I hope there will be a “get all of it” at the end of some kind, otherwise, this is useless.

I predict that 1990 will be Wizardry 6+7. Any good odds?

Oh, the MIGHTY LIST again.
I had hoped they'd have been done with boring promos that drag on, especially after the Keane incident.

You can get it as freeware, anyway.

Is it just my impression or does this promotion look like a test on new functionalities that improve on the Insomnia promo? As far as i can tell, the improvements are amazing. Timer lets you do real life stuff instead of staying glued to the screen 24/7 and the possibility to add/subtract seconds would prevent too much keaning from happening. Very well thought.
