Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

Damn you! Now have to watch them all!

I believe you are missing some letters, and perhaps punctuation.

And I shouldn't be the only one with this theme song stuck in their head due to a word association with a game title. The misery must be shared.

Heh, I just did that last week. Only six episodes though, so an easy run.

IMHO Space Quest series were all great for the humor, though I never liked dying over and over (and all Sierra Quest games did that to me.)

I am going to have to take a nap sometime. I was sorry to miss the Zork Anthology. I hope I don't miss anything else I really wanted, especially if its 59 cents, but I just didn't sleep well last night and its catching up with me. Now the snow is falling and its so peaceful and ZZzzzzzz....

stevieknix: What's been up so far? I've seen Might and Magic, Space Quest and Police Quest.
avatar
Karma313th: I know the Zork Trilogy was the first item of the sale.

Think it was Ultima 1-3 then Might & Magic.

I missed Space Quest?

Was it the 1-3 pack?
Yes, Space Quest 1+2+3 came and went pretty quickly

stg83: It was advertised almost everywhere, except here on GOG. I only got an email when the Time Machine had already reached 1986. :)

Davane: Same here. It wouldn't be so bad, but I already checked the site several times today, with no mention of the sale, and if I hadn't have gotten the GOG.com email this evening, I'd have missed all this fun. I missed most of the Insomnia sale, simply because I refused to wait around for some promos for games, the most of which I own.

I much prefer the weekend promos, because now it has got to the point where I can take one look at the promo and decide if I am going to be poor that weekend or not. And, right now, most of the time I actually own at least 50% of the games on a weekend promo already, so it is mostly catching up on the missing few titles.
I sat through the whole insomnia Sale for only The Witcher 2 because that was the only game I wanted to buy at that time. But it was a lot of fun on the thread like it is for this Time Machine sale. :)

mudd1: One could argue that nothing ever sounded better than the SID chip of the C64 but it took people 20 years or so to realize that ;) Its sound is still immediately recognizable which is astonishing given its basic capabilities.
Except I'd argue that it still comes in second to the Roland Mt-32.

It's a shame not many people got to experience it since it was insanely expensive when it came out. I only just picked one up a few years ago after having heard about how much richer and immersive the MT-32 tracks were compared to the Soundblaster versions I was familiar with from growing up with them.
I think this format is a vast improvement over the Insomnia one. At least in this one, we might have agonizingly long waits over popular games people want to buy (which makes more people happy) as opposed to waiting forever for not as popular ones.

Yeah, but only if you can afford to kill the time being on the thread. I know that I wasn't able to do it for some reason - probably because I was with my girlfriend at the time, who for some reason didn't think the Insomnia Sale was all that important... but, I'm back to being single now, so I can afford to watch this sale while watching YouTube and spamming this thread...

Well...crap.

Would've grabbed it. Never cared as much for SQ2, but SQ and SQ 3 are two of my favorite adventures.
Do gog normally not advertise sales on their own site? Like someone else stated, i only received an email informing me of this sale when Might and Magic was up. Good thing I didn't miss out on something I really wanted.
1989 - what will be the next deal, any good ideas?

See, and now you're without both the girlfriend AND the Insomnia sale bounty. Get your life priorities straight, bwah! ;)

Ah Yes, you do need a lot free time to do this which I had loads of and also do for now as well. I had no one to answer to except my drowsy eyes. :)
