Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

Yep, it was indeed a fun sale. And GOG made me spend more money than i planned to... once again... :D

For all those who missed some games, i still have 3 games from this sale for trade:

- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
- Deus Ex - GOTY Edition
- Serious Sam: The First Encounter (will add this to another key to even out a trade)

Plus a few more on my updated trade list.

So shoot me a PM if you need one of those games.
Well, I was hoping that, since so many people were asleep during parts of the sale, that the entire thing would be repeated on flash sale. And totally not hoping that just because I wussed out on getting Might and Magic back on day one.
Thank you GOG for another interesting sale.
The Time Machine sale (or mini-insomnia 2.0 sale as I like to refer) was a welcomed diversion with what would have been another dull wintery week. So thank you GOG.

Ditto thanks for those tracking/maintaining the game's list. Your service was invaluable.

Also, thanks for the wonderful banter that makes these sales the most entertaining. Without these discussions, it would be just another sale.

Unfortunately, I don't spend enough time in the forums as I don't typically get the free time. But as I see, I've been missing out on a lot because the GOG-er community is strong. This sale just reinforces that. Hopefully I won't be a stranger until the next time.

Take care everyone, and happy gaming!

- Mr. Foxworks :)

flanner: 1000 points question for all:

have you ever bought any gog game for normal (full) price? :-)
I've bought almost every GOG game I own at full price. Generally, if I'm not out of money for the month, I buy games I've been looking for the moment I see them on GOG ... which makes all these sales a bit sad, since I already own nearly everything I'm interested in.

Most of my initial purchases were indeed at regular price here. But as my backlog has grown to over 750 games, and my GOG shelf just surpassed 300 thanks to the weekend sale, I now tend to wait until a sale before adding any more. I just can't justify grabbing a game immediately when there are so many waiting to be played.

However, if the hint that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is coming to GOG is true, then I will very probably buy it upon release, discounted or not.
I was asleep, was there a game for 2014?

Yes - the Banner Saga.

No. Being that 2014 has just begun, there wasn't a 2014 title featured.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.??? Dammit! I just bought SoC on Steam during the winter sale (my only purchase - except Wing Commander V on GOG - during the sale). I often purchase games on Steam only to see them on GOG a few weeks later. Tropico 3, Torchlight, GRID, Back to the Future... I never thought that SoC will be another one of them. I'm trying not to buy Worms Armageddon for quite some time now, but this...

Grobles87: With 39ish minutes left for Amnesia I'm not convinced if I should buy it or not because I'm not too much a fan of horror games. I'm actually worried this game might be too scary for me. In your opinion, from 1-10, how scary would Amnesia be? Depending on the answer I'll make a decision. Guess that sounds weird but oh well...
I was going to gift Amnesia to you.

donsanderson: Before Grimrock ends a note about old:
I programmed my first computer with a set of 8 toggle switches and a pushbutton.
Loaded my first real game from an audio cassette on a Commodore VIC-20.
I'm not old, oh heck no. :P

Just saw the other mention of a VIC, good times there!
I loaded my first real game by TYPING it in manually (VIC-20), then trying to debug where I made mistakes :-)
Some of the folks at my Dads work were into hacking, and had built Cartidge-Loaders (?) :: so we got a handful of games dumped onto tape... I think Asteroids took 8-10mins to load from the cassette tape.

* Tomb Raider 1+2+3 because I looking for that game made me discover GOG and 9.99 for three games seemed a good deal to me.
* System Shock 2, to show my support.

This. If I could afford it, I would buy ALL if my games here at full price, but sometimes I'll buy one at full price to vote with my wallet, usually at time of release. Shock 2 and the two Deadlock games (at their initial 30% off) are two examples off the top of my head.
