Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

GamesMaster16: only 12? :) I got 7 so far and haven't installed any of em yet :) right now trying for 100 games and I'm 1 away :)

ggf162: That.... is absolutely nothing my friend.
Wait a minute. I mean I have 12 games on my hard drive, not 12 games total. They are all scattered across multiple sites. (GOG, Steam, Humble Bundle)
avatar
gscotti: Does anyone have a link to Sinistar's list?

Ninja'd by Fuin. :-)
And thank you, too :)
Sad I missed the early Sierra titles, will wait for those to go back to sales in the future! The only one's I've caught I either own, or no interest.

GoG needs a huge adventure game sale next week for my birthday of the titles I don't own ;-) hehe (actually can't complain I've manage to pick up so many wish list games in January that I'm scared to look at my bank account!).

Do we think the more recent Amnesia game will appear in 2013? Desperate to play that!

stg83: Well I guess its about time to call it a day as there are only two more years left and we pretty much know what the games are gonna be. Firstly, I would like to apologize to eveyone if my over excessive keane puns made you cringe and hope that some of my attempted comedy on this thread invoked a few chuckles. It has been a blast traveling through the history of gaming on the GOG time machine from 1983-2013 even though there were a few keanks along the way. So congrats to GOG for another innovative promo with this DRM-Free Time Machine Sale which hopefully attracted a lot of new users to this great site. Also a special shoutout to IAmSinistar for maintaining The List and also to the amazing generosity of foxworks who not only gifted me my most wanted game from this sale i.e. Prince of Persia which I missed due to sleep but also gifted games to well over a dozen other folks who had missed their games due to sleep or work.

Thank you all for making lurking in this thread a really fun ride and proving that this GOG community is indeed the best one you can find compared to any other on the internet. See y'all at the next great promo on GOG. :)
There is no such thing as too many Keane puns. You do as many as you Keane.

See ya until next time!

MisterLovejoy: Thanks OFG.

Guess that's the end of my sale then and trolling this thread. It was fun and I really enjoyed some of the jokes and convo. Thanks everyone and see you next sale thread!!! :)

P.S. If you are an RPG addict like myself and are considering Grimrock, google GRIMROCK RACES first and make sure you're okay with it. It's one human race and three monster races. That's it (no elves, no dwarves, no orcs, etc).

Thanks again all. Be well.

Buenro-games: What is wrong with the races? You are too picky and bedsides you don't even see your character at all since it's first person. Just imagine its an elf who was raised by humans or something.

The races are pretty creative in my opinion.
Like I said: make sure you're okay with it. Obviously I'm not and you are. Too bad you can't buddy people on here because I would've definitely buddied you. You made interesting points earlier. And yeah, I am very picky because I value my time. TOO picky though is a subjective statement.

Yeah that.
I come here more for the chuckles than the games. ;)

boru: ... Myst games, or Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/NWN, Planescape, Tropico, or Settlers ... maybe next time.
avatar
foxworks: It's a shame you missed out on last November's Insomnia sale as all the above mentioned games were featured.
I may have wandered in and out of that sale ... Actually I did get the Settlers game I wanted at that time, but I was still researching laptops then and wasn't quite ready to grab a stack of games.

Ah well, it's all good, if only I could figure out some of these Sam & Max puzzles now ... everyone says they're easy ...

The important thing is too have fun, so I can understand you not liking those particular races. . So yeah, always play what you like or it becomes a chore. There is nothing worse than playing a game you are not liking and then thinking to yourself "Why the heck am I playing this". LOL, that has actually happened to me.

I've got ~140 games installed on my HDD, and that's just from GOG alone.

Marci87: SAM & MAX SAVE THE WORLD
It was good. I would have got SS T 1st Encounter but well ppl got to sleep some time ;-)
I not only had to sleep, I had to deal with another power outage on a freezing day. We keep oil lamps and a kerosene heater for these occasions, but that doesn't give us internet. I didn't miss much I would have wanted. I would backed up Sam & Max 1 at that price. We have the TellTale dvd disk (bought from the store,) but I heard something about limited installs? Hopefully our disk isn't like that. If it isn't, then there's no problem with my missing that deal either.

At least got back in time for Unepic, which I very much wanted. :)
