Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

gandalf.nho: How's Unepic difficulty? Don't like hard games
It's not too bad. You don't need to jump pixel-precise for instance and instant-kills are a rarity, except for rather obvious spike traps that is. You will need to adjust your strategy on the fly according to which beastie you encounter. Personally I found that aspect enjoyable rather than overly difficult. I hate vvvvvv and Hexagon and twitch-heavy games. I would class Unepic as a game that will keep you on your toes and as a game that won't bite off those same toes if they are just a mm too close to a fire.

Buenro-games: What is wrong with the races? You are too picky and bedsides you don't even see your character at all since it's first person. Just imagine its an elf who was raised by humans or something.

The races are pretty creative in my opinion.
You can play as a minotaur?! Sweet! I might just have to snag this when it comes on.
Yeay! Unepic - I finally get to buy something in this sale! :D
Overall, I'm rather pleased with this sale. I got Deus Ex and Sam & Max for a song, and I absolutely would have bought HOMM V and the M&M series if I didn't miss 'em. A pretty good selection for 31 games. I guess the rules of this sale could have benefited from some serious tweaking, though -- maybe some advance notice of what's going on sale next, or a longer minimum timespan to get the goods before they pass on to the next game (90 minutes for HOMM V was too small a window for me).

It would have been nice to see one of the Myst games, or Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/NWN, Planescape, Tropico, or Settlers ... maybe next time.

It's a shame you missed out on last November's Insomnia sale as all the above mentioned games were featured.

Yeah, the Insectoid and Minotaur playable races are pretty unconventional for the setting. That's nice.
Does anyone have a link to Sinistar's list?

That was a bit unfortunate. For 59cents they were practically giving it away.
Well I guess its about time to call it a day as there are only two more years left and we pretty much know what the games are gonna be. Firstly, I would like to apologize to eveyone if my over excessive keane puns made you cringe and hope that some of my attempted comedy on this thread invoked a few chuckles. It has been a blast traveling through the history of gaming on the GOG time machine from 1983-2013 even though there were a few keanks along the way. So congrats to GOG for another innovative promo with this DRM-Free Time Machine Sale which hopefully attracted a lot of new users to this great site. Also a special shoutout to IAmSinistar for maintaining The List and also to the amazing generosity of foxworks who not only gifted me my most wanted game from this sale i.e. Prince of Persia which I missed due to sleep but also gifted games to well over a dozen other folks who had missed their games due to sleep or work.

Thank you all for making lurking in this thread a really fun ride and proving that this GOG community is indeed the best one you can find compared to any other on the internet. See y'all at the next great promo on GOG. :)
