There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

I think some here will be surprised at how long Legend of Grimrock is going to last. If my deductions are correct, and most of us are first and foremost RPG type who have a good regard for dungeons and deals, Legend of Grimrock will last longer than UnEpic. So it might take a while to get to that Spellmonkey game than most people think.
Amnesia = TWO dollars??

I already have it on steam, but at this price I bought it again for me and bought 2 more as gifts for a couple of friends I know dont have it, and dont have gog games, Im gonna recruit more people for the DRM-free cause, deals like these deserve to be gifted.

Geez, I still feel as if I am getting away with a robbery or something, three copies of Amensia for 6 dollars, best deal Ive seen for a long time, keep doing it right gog, I really hope this deals pay off for you, cause for us players sure it does!
Its seems like the GOG time machine is stuck in 2010 folks and can't seem to remember how to go Back to the Future. :P
Like many, I own most of the games that have been on sale...a couple I skipped (and now second guess myself....ie M&M1-6). Spelunky may be my last chance to particapate in this one. (love this sale btw....or more this "post" actually)

Sanjuro: Hey, we're speaking "year-defining/most notable games of the year" here, no? Too early for the conclusions yet.
avatar
Buenro-games: Come on. A game called Octodad: Dadliest Catch (Get it? Not dEadly but dAdliest, like the title) can't possibly NOT be one of the year defining games of 2014.
I'm just wondering if he's married to the Octomom.
I even sound like a Bot, trying to sell gog.com, you really got me with this one

Buenro-games: Legend of Grimrock is a GREAT dungeon crawler. If you like that genre, it's going to be a steal if at 80-90% off.
Oh, so that was the game I was forgetting about? Meh, I've got it already XD.

stg83: So it means you also own the current game on sale, you sure do have a lot of games in your library but how many of them have you played? :)
Touché.

BTW, Amnesia's pretty solid, but really not for the faint of heart. Not just saying, as I'm sure you've all heard that one before. This is probably the first game I've had to force myself to finish, since I was so uncomfortable playing it. Then again, I've never been a fan of horror, I'm sure it's probably vanilla for the genre enthusiasts.

That said, DON'T buy it. I want to get my Unepic and be over with this already.

Ghorpm: So...

2011 UnEpic
2012 Legend of Grimrock
2013 Spelunky

In other words games that I already own.

Leroux: I envy you, at least you can stop caring about the promo now and go to bed. Me, I'm only really waiting for Spelunky this whole time. :D
Don't you dare fall asleep! You must get Spelunky, it's a fantastic game! One of a few platformer games that I'm regularly coming back to! Buy Spelunky... stay awake, be strong, may be force... and others like that. Buy Spelunky! :D
Just got home from work and looks like I didn't miss anything I didn't already own. My big question is how the heck did tThe Witcher last 4:12? I mean, one can hardly give away keys to the game these days...
Is there no way to see all the time-machine sales? Maybe at the end? I'd certainly buy more if I could see them all. Otherwise, being a rebel and all, work, family, and sleep get in the way! ;)

CorranHorn: To bad GOG doesn´t have AvP 1, not many games comes close to scare me like that one does when playing as a marine. The new Alien game from Sega looks very good so far, hopefully it´s not another A:CM.
Well, there are different types of fear-instilling games.
I was pretty scared when I played Pathologic; it wasn't because the enemies were especially terrifying or unbeatable, or ambushed you or something. But the general feel of time running out and you being caught in the chaos of a dying town you are supposed to save... It makes you afraid of time running out, that's something no amount of guns. ammo of healing kits can help.
high rated

I have a huge library on steam, but I don't care. I am not using it again. I am converting everything to GOG.

It probably has to do with the hype Witcher 3 is getting, many people who didnt know about the franchise unitl now may think it´s not a bad idea to spend a few dollars in the first games, I guess

Well from what I have observed genre fans were also scared shitless by this game hence why it is a fan favorite in the survival horror genre. some would say this game has revived the genre resulting in many more cool survivor horror games. :)
