Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

E_Morricone: Considering buying Amnesia, what kind of horror are we talking about?

Because if it's just gore, blood and guts, I'll pass.
No gore, well not much at least. It's real horror not just cheap scares.

Qtis: I'm kinda divided here. Personally the horror genre has not really hit me, but then again, Amnesia is highly acclaimed.. Though I did buy Witcher even though I already have it (digital download + support for CDP).

Amnesia, worth it or not? Any reasons for one or the other?

Boilpoint: It's a great game, but you definitely want to enjoy being scared. If you don't, you should just pass, you won't like the game.
exactly !!
I enjoyed it pretty much. my gf played it and didn't like it. some people just don't get the tension/mood.
For her it needed to be more the "shock/in your face thing" :D :D Outlast (from the yesterdays 60% sale (was a top deal if ya didn't grab it)) she's enjoying :D
wish for more "not so hyped games" in this sale!
it's like ...been there, done that! cmon GOG give us the goood stuff!

IAmSinistar: Yah, the sale is over for me now. Will stick with it just for documenting purposes.
...and a great job you've done on that list btw.

Ta, genuine OCD does have a few upsides.

EDIT: Like your tagline by the way. Ioun Stones are yet another thing that D&D "borrowed" from the fantastic Jack Vance.

Amnesia is all about tension, it may look like any other FPS game but it really isn´t. Amnesia has more in common with Myst and other games like Myst.

There's some blood and gore, dismembered bodies and such... but it's not the main focus of the game.

It's sort of like the Penumbra games if you played those.

MrDrWatson: Gosh darn I just missed this sale, now I don't have Thief 2, oh what a shame never mind hi ho.....

will it work? :-)
*edit* just to agree, the gog community is great and I love to spend the time on the forums during the sales.

graspee: It was thief 3 not thief 2 that was on sale.
I know somehow thief 2 seems to escape my grasp everytime.
So the final going to be Spelunky, Legend of Grimrock and Unepic; time to rest for me then.
And you have no weapon as far as I remember (but I haven't gone far away when I tried it : it was too much scarry for me ^^"). It's an athmosphere/reflection game.

Qtis: Considering Thief 2 wasn't in this sale.. I'd say it's kinda stretching it ;) Great point nevertheless :P

randomengine: There should be a way to see other people's gaming collections so you can A. Verify they don't have it and B. If they have a bajillion games give it to the guy who has very few and therefore would probably appreciate it more.
That's a great idea!
Here is a good clip from the game Amnesia that is much better than the trailer here on GOG. (The trailer has the Gamma level too high and the darkness is shiny. Bad GOG, bad.)

Enjoy and see if you want to buy the game.
