Let's do the time warp again*!

Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

JustSayin: So what exactly is the problem? They could add at what, another 4 minutes by hitting +1? Or they are adding 3 seconds. You know why there are three seconds added? People are buying the games. More money for GOG equals better stuff for everyone.

Soccorro: Yep,as much as I love GOG.com and JudasIscariot, GOG.com is still a company trying to make profit. They are no saints, just people with a good idea.
We believe one can make a profit without being all corporate about it :)

(also, thank you for the kind words :P )

ggf162: Has anybody been up the whole sale? I've been monitoring it almost continuously since I got up (sometime in the middle of M&M, I believe).
I've actually only missed Zork (unfortunately). Then I went to sleep during Serious Sam, and woke up for thief (checked on prince of persia, but didn't really feel like it and went back to sleep ;p).
So far none of my predictions seem to check out. I was sure 2006 in such a sale would be the witcher. Maybe 2007? Not sure when the enhanced edition was released...
LOL they picked HOMM V. A game many dont actually want...

So for 2007 we have

Driver: Parallel Lines 17/07/2007
Empire Earth 3 6/11/2007
Two Worlds: Epic Edition 20/06/2007
Fantasy Wars 2/10/2007
UFO: Afterlight 16/03/2007
The Witcher 26/10/2007 (the favorite)
Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm 17/05/2007
Scratches: Director's Cut 23/05/2007
Broken Sword 4: The Angel of Death 26/01/2007
ArmA Gold Edition 17/02/2007

Sam & Max Save the World 18/06/2007
Overlord + Raising Hell 26/06/2007
The Penumbra Collection 30/05/2007
Jack Keane 1/08/2007 (does anyone actually want this???)
Shadowgrounds Survivor 14/11/2007

Well, nonetheless I've picked up a giftable copy. I will test your assumption near my b-day :)

JaqFrost: I don't know if I want to buy HoMM5 or not. =(
Sure you do ;p If you are not a hardcore homm3 fan, you want homm5. For 5$, srsly.

It's the second best in the series (3rd is the best). It's a great game, well worth 5$.

Well, that is entirely up to you.
Having played through all the heroes series to date (HoMM6 a mere demo though) I can tell you that 5 combines some ideas from 3 and 4. My personal pros and cons:
+the races are really unique, with different hero skills, creature perks. special buildings and stuff (Necros rising dead for their army is no news but how about Wizards creating artifacts for the troops?)
-the graphic part. They should've left it 2D
+alt-upgrade system in TotE offers more flexibility in your army formation
+most of the campaigns are really there to tell a story
-the story itself is a bit of a cliche

All in all, to me that's a good game. Definitely a "HoMM game", though not the way HoMM3 is.

Vincentdante: Curse my feeble human body I keep sleeping through the best deals

JudasIscariot: Someone hasn't been augmented yet, I see :)
Yes, even though they had almost 6 and a half ours to do so. :P
For 5$ it's not bad, but it really is just an inferior copy of HoMM 3. I liked 4 much more, at least it was its own game, with its own identity. 5 is kind of pointless. It's not bad, but it really is just 3, but not as good and in 3D.

I haven't played any HoMM game, so I think my indecision lies in that I don't know what to expect from it.
Can anyone with an overall good PC tell me something about Heroes 5?

If you open the hero inventory or the town screen it's done instantly (like in Heroes 2 or 3) or do you have a delay? (almost a second or worst). I can't stand that.

I have an I5 2500K and Radeon 6950.

They may not be saints but they surely are valiant knights here at GOG. ;)
I hate to be "that guy", but could someone tell me what was the 2005 game?
