There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

The_Blog: That's atleast was the result of my me researches. So I havn't actually played this version through yet (just bought it ^^). But I'm pretty sure it doesn't include it. IF it does include it and somebody finds out. Please post it here !

wrathsinger: Well, they appear in Chapter 2, so it's not too hard to check that.
I knwo but I just purchased the GOG Version around 20 minutes ago ;)
3 hours sleep during the Deus Ex madness was a good idea!
*makes multiple Serious Sam purchases* - I mean, 59 cents? Are you kidding me?
Never look a gift horse in the mouth! Or it will shoot you!
Obviously GOG is trolling us. Serious Sam was absolutely a 2001 game. It even won GameSpot's PC game of the year....in 2001.
I don't really like FPS games but for just 0.45€ i'll give it a try... :D

Maybe they put the wrong game up by accident?
$0.59

looks like we will be stuck on Serious Sam for awhile...

CarrionCrow: 6 hours, 22 minutes.

Niggles: i wish they had a cap on how long a game could stay up....its one thing to have a timer......
It's hardly a Keane situation, clearly people want the game if it's staying up that long, we'll get to the rest eventually :)
Bought!

Taking inflation into account, I probably spent more for one play of an arcade game when I was a kid/teen.

skeletonbow: If you think Deus Ex was slow to move on, just wait until they put Neverwinter Nights on sale in a few hours... That'll sell like 10000000000 copies and be on sale for a month or so. Hehehe. ;)

Another World: 15th Anniversary Edition 14/04/2006
...
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey 17/04/2006
...
The Settlers 2: 10th anniversary 27/10/2006
...

If Jmich's spreadsheet is correct (and gamecards correct) those are the games for 2006 that could go up (ignoring the games no longer on GOG)
If it's any of the games I excerpted from your list that'd be good for me as they're on my wishlist. In particular I'd like to see Another World at 80-90% off as it's a nice old classic that would be nice to add for the right price (I still have it on old floppies though). If they choose NWN2 for the promo, which is entirely plausible as they know it's a big seller, it's going to sell like there's no tomorrow. I'd wager it'd sell at least 3000-4000 copies or more judging by estimates from previous sales. I'd expect it to be on sale for at least 8-12 hours or more, so anyone who is upset over a game staying up for a while in this sale better hope to hell they don't put any of the AD&D games on sale as they're the most popular sellers in the entire catalogue in every sale they've appeared in to date while I've been watching. ;) Lot of RPG geeks here! (Hey, I'm one too and I bought the entire series during 2012 winter holidays... <grin>)

It was a game out of left field that I had not anticipated.

Nope means he didn't guess correctly :)
I still love GOG and all your efforts. That said, based on the last few promotions you've tried, I wanted to clarify what I don't like about them as a group.

I don't want any sale that pressures me with time. This includes games that are available for such a short time, I miss them if I go eat lunch, or if I do something as simple as sleeping at night, I wake up to find I've missed a significant portion of games from a sale.

The other thing that bothers me is sales that force me to constantly check in throughout a day or miss games I want because I don't know when they'll be on sale. Sorry to mention the competition, but even Steam's flash sales are 8 hours. Have a little mercy for those of us who still don't have a smart phone. It's more than a little maddening when I miss a sale of a game I've wanted for 6 months because I was busy for the wrong 2 hours.

Your last few sales take so much effort to keep up with they feel like work. I get enough work at work. I come here to relax. I know some people thrive on stress, but I, and I'm sure most, want my buying experience as stress free as possible. I love GOG. I love your attitude, your DRM Free policy and your awesome support. I hope you keep this in mind for those of us who have jobs and commitments, and don't have the free time we did in high school. Help us to feel like first class members too.

shmargin: I haven't seen anything go for 90% off, or $0.59 yet... Did I miss it?
avatar
justanoldgamer: Nope, it hasn't happened yet. I would not be surprised if it was the last game.
Hey, ask and ye shall receive eh? $0.59 for Serious Sam is good enough for me. I've got the CD-Rom around my house somewhere, but since I haven't used my disk drive in years, this is a good alternative for less than a buck.
