Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

I have been listening to the Pac Man theme for over and hour now, and the timer of this sale is still going up! It's official, I have gone insane and travelled to Bizarro World!!!

Frostyfirefly: Deus Ex: Fire Within Edition

OdanUrr: Alternatively we could have a picture of Jack Keane saying, "I never asked for this." XD
Lol, true.

Oooh, crossing my fingers for Gothic in the 2001 entry.

randomengine: I was hoping I could see the entirety of the sale so that I could see if I could afford to get Outlast, but it appears that I won't have that privilege.
What's the budget (I'm assuming) concern about affording Outlast?
Would fanboys please stop buying this overrated game so we can get some good deals soon? Thanks

Azilut: You did notice today's Indie Gem Promo, right?

Edit: NM, I think I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant you were waiting to see if Outlast would be featured, but now I think maybe you meant that you wanted to see if you would have enough money left over?
Yeah, that is what I am talking about. I was gonna wait until last minute to get it, but I see that this Time sale will last a couple more days and so I better get Outlast by the end of the day. Which means Deus Ex will still be up.

skeletonbow: OOoo, I just had a cool idea for a future sale like this. They could overlap multiple games on sale every so often.

wrathsinger: So you too miss the atlas bear, huh?
That was caused by thousands of people trying to click at the same time to get one of the freebie games, with the server spike taking a while to settle afterward, or before that by the Fallout freebies. I don't think any normal game sales caused the servers to overload though.

Stooner: It was a safe bet..

Not about the health benefits of consuming pineapples, I assume.
let me guess... MK MCXXXIV?
VIII, actually. Your lack of math and memory skill just caused you to lose the copy of DX you no doubt were craving.

Fesin: Well, maybe this shows Squeenix how popular Deus Ex is here, and they bring us Human Revolution?
avatar
InfraSuperman: Knowing Square-Enix, it's almost certain that such a realization would cause them to actually remove Deus Ex from here and lock it up behind a wall of DRM. After all, something this popular has to be protected from the evil pirates. I mean, consider the fact that to them, the Steam-DRM wasn't actually enough when it came to their arguably most popular title, Final Fantasy VII. Even if you buy that game on Steam, you need an additional Square-Enix account and, as if that wasn't enough, the game still comes with SecuRom (which includes a limit on the number of possible installations, if I'm not mistaken). That's insane.
I think SE are going to be very surprised when Thief won´t sell the numbers of copies they are expecting. So far the game looks very dull and if I didn´t know it was a Thief game I would have thought it was Dishonored 2. Publishers today either don´t give a damn or have no idea any more why a game like Thief and Deus Ex became popular in the first place.

I had a feeling it also appeared on some regular sales. But then again, I was half asleep at that time so I'm not so sure.

I actually told you how awesome you are before you even opened that thread, but I didn't let you see (do I really need another DX copy?)
And it was while you were breaking the Time Machine, so now you can't see it anymore.

Added an extra second just for you.

IAmSinistar: Now you see why they didn't do System Shock 2 earlier. If they had, we'd be sitting through the same thing for that, only to reach the end and then have THIS happen.
Thank all the powers of the universe it's not happening in my lifetime!!
Otherwise I wouldn't be able to resist that head banging I mentioned earlier ;-P

Aye, there would be too much customer alienation for even GOG's tastes. They prefer it in smaller doses, such as by not telling what games are coming or by avoiding sending timely emails about sales. ;)

I'm half tempted to buy a GoG copy (have it on disc) JUST to add more time to the clock now.
After a certain amount of time (like 6 hours), every sold copy should decrease the timer with 3 seconds :)
