Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

DanyKing: Hi, I'd like to ask how the sale affects bundles. If a game is available individually or bundled at a reduced price, and it comes on sale, will the bundle become less expensive, too?
avatar
Enebias: On GoG, you can always take adavntage of a bundle even if you already own one or more games. There are no changes in the price -just subtract from the total what you already have- and you don't need to buy said games a second time (of course).
Thanks for the response Enebias! But I'm not sure what your statement implies - assume there are two games A and B. A costs $10 and B costs $20. The bundle is, say, $25. Now if game A is on sale and 50% off, will the bundle price be $20 or still $25?

jsjrodman: Apologies for this, but the word you are looking for is 'poised'. Meaning positioned or tensed for action. Posed means positioned for viewing.

Ie, A cat might be poised before rushing a bird, while a person you are painting may be posed.
Knowing cats, a cat may also be posed before rushing a bird.

ClockwerkDE: Noooo! I missed Cannon Fodder! :(

Austrobogulator: 2 minutes have passed in 20 mins. This is the worst time machine ever :o

jsjrodman: How is the GOG Time Machine like an American CEO?

The more money you give it, the worse a job it does!

(full disclosure, I am an american CEO.)

(Okay, I'm not really a CEO.)

OdanUrr: Oh, then it's not posed to break the record? Pity.

Yes, you're right! I was going to write that one but typed the other one instead! XD

Too bad it wasn't Keanen Fodder, as then you probably would have had a better chance of buying it.

OdanUrr: Does anybody know for how long has Tomb Raider been on sale now?
It's mondo84 that keeps track of the exact time, but going by the time I checked back in, I'd say it's been around two hours now.
Bleh! Both Star Control and Jagged Alliance go by while I'm asleep >=(

Curiosity: re: Star Control.

Are you a collector, or do you prefer the original to Ur Quan Masters?
Or do you enjoy the Star Control 1 strategy game?

Out of curiosity, what was 91-95?

Thanks man, I didnt know that word.

I'd actually like it if people pointed out the errors I make in my posts - its always nice to learn something new or prevent myself from making the same mistake in the future.

And here's where I throw in the towel. Been keeping an eye on this for the last 12-ish hours and I got stuff to do the next few days which won't let me take advantage of any possible later deals. So I'll hope everyone gets what they are looking for.
I'm getting the feeling this sale isn't creating the same comradery that the Insomnia sale did.
