I am looking at a game on GG and next to DRM it says Other. Should I assume this game is DRM free?

Thanks.

'Other' usually means serial keys.
Edit: Nevermind, I erred. I think Catshade might be right (although I can't confirm from experience).

Leroux: Hard to say, without knowing the game. Usually they'd put DRM-free if it was DRM-free, but they also labeled "World of Goo" as Other and as far as I can tell their version is DRM-free. Maybe they put that because you need to be online to see other players, but the installs and runs perfectly well without internet connection.
The game is Neverwinter Nights and it can be a multiplayer. As long as I do not have to be on the internet while the install runs...

I didn't buy NWN from GamersGate, but that one definitely uses serial keys. I never heard that someone had to connect to the internet to install it though. But in case you didn't notice yet, someone who reviewed it said:

"This particular release is not as described, "fully up to date", after installation you will have to download an extra patch, which should only take a couple of minutes, then you are ready to go!"

(If you're hesitant or suspicious, get it from GOG for $10. But I guess it's currently $5 for you on GG?)

Right, it is $5 on GG, but would rather download it from gog. I just was not sure if there was going to be a difference.

I think the GOG release doesn't use serial keys for single player but if you want to play multiplayer, too, you need to request a serial key from Support, which could take a few days. You can install and start playing single player right away though, without DRM.

Thanks again.
In most cases it's just a serial, but it can also mean they are not really sure if there's a another kind of ingame drm or othercopyprotection. That was the answer I've got about my question regarding Neverwinter Nights Complete.
does neverwinter nights on gamersgate have a key for online play too?

I didn't bought it, but normally yes. If there is something missing they put that information on the gamepage. Under system requirements I found this: Multiplayer:Broadband Internet connection for multiplayer online play.

Not quite correct, but close enough. The GOG version is preconfigured with keys that do not work for online multiplayer (LAN may or may not still work), they need to be replaced with unique keys (which can be had from support or from a copy bought elsewhere) if you want to get online.
