Looking for anyone that has had the same issue with this game. I installed on Vista 64 and it crashes on startup with a Drakensang has stopped working error box. I downloaded and tested the demo and I get the same result. I have tried all the load and run as administrator things so if you have had this problem and solved it please let me know. Also, I loaded it on my wife's Vista 32 and it runs just fine.

Wish I could help, I have the 32-bit OS. Almost everything I try works except for a few older games that require 98 or XP.

I wish I could help as well but alas I don't have Drakensang (running 7 64 and was definitely tempted at the last major sale that included Drak tho)

Install the demo outside the default location and/or apply XP compatibility mode. My best shots in the dark. ;)
Perhaps though it is just not 64-bit supported. Contact the developer?

Installing now, give me about 15mins to check everythings working okay.
Installed fine, all working okay.
I'm on Vista 64, installed it to my second HDD.
Not sure if it makes any difference what the version is, but I bought this in the UK. It's just the standard DVD version, I haven't patched it or anything.

2: Direct X?
3: Are you sure you meet the requirements?
4: Uninstall it all, install again and restart before playing.
5: Try to start it up and don't touch anything at all!
Try posting your spec's too.

Like a few other games (that I can't think of), Drakensang is known to have a CTD w/ error message issue if the Uniflex Half-Duplex Modem Audio Device driver is actually running.
If it is running - please go into the Device Manager and disable this Uniflex Half-Duplex Modem Audio Device driver right before you boot this game up.

No luck - Thanks. Only SB Audigy - disabled it just as a test but same error.

No Luck with this game so far - Thanks for the help. I guess I will have to hijack my wifes 32 bit box to play this game ;-(

Thanks for testing - I am having no luck with this one. This is the first game I have not been able to get running on this box. I always install to another location. Same issue for both the Demo and the Retail Box.
