I do know there's a thread to discuss the reviews but this one is for the actual game and I'm wondering if anyone else has played it.

I got to the part where you can play online on my Elf.

What I like:

DC has probably one of the best beat 'em up combat systems I've played, the flaws of the genre are still there but it's much deeper than other games. Each character plays much different, I played the elf and sorceress mostly and they're a lot different from each other. I really enjoyed the Elf as she is really unique, having a powerful bow but it has limited ammo that you need to manage.

The art style is great, I love every bit, even the more extreme parts but I'm a fan of art that stands out and don't squick easily.

what I don't like:

I think the game could use some more levels and maybe some longer levels. I can see this would drive some people nuts but the game still has some legs.

Rune magic is a bit confusing and moving the hand with the right stick is a bit awkward.

Also the Elf gets killed by lag when it happens in MP.

Overall: I'm really liking the game, the different styles of characters and the great fluid combat and art style really leave me enjoying the game a lot and the flaws aren't a big deal.

I bought it despite my misgivings about Vanillaware in the past.

Not going to be playing it until I finish Xillia though
