Delixe: Sure does look like one.

Yeah, it does. It's a debut then ;)
I always wondered if the mirrors were just a Tevinter device to communicate, but it looks like they are indeed full blown portals, the ones that aren't broken and susceptible to the taint at least. Interesting, considering all the Arlathan-Black City-Fade-Tevinter questions surrounding the mirrors. I'm hoping for a few answers on that.
I can't quite get what the mage says about the mirror. "The WHATNOW* isn't just any mirror.". Can't understand the * word...

Turn on subtitles maybe?

Arkose: A crucial reason for such an option going away is that they have moved away from morally flexible protagonists with uncertain futures to protagonists that are fated to be the good guy in the long run and can only do slightly questionable actions along the way for the greater good, sort of like a pussified Jack Bauer. Killing a companion falls a bit too far off the side of evil for Pussy Bauer, especially since the companion's questionable morals were typically known when they joined but brushed over with a "use the tools of evil to fight evil" speech.

You can kill Zevran at his ambush. Tease Leliana mercilessly about her beliefs then take her to the Gauntlet so she can watch you piss in Andraste's ashes and then you can kill her (and possibly Wynne too).
Speaking of Wynne, I've decapitated her a few times at the Circle Tower.

Arkose: Unfortunately, BioWare's "ends justify the means" options generally backfire because very few allow you to make significantly debatable decisions (like letting some innocent people die in order to potentially save more lives in the long term); most of them involve small-scale acts like fleecing a widow out of her dead husband's possessions or demanding more money for a job, things which simply aren't going to help the war on terror (replace with Darkspawn or Reapers as appropriate) in any tangible way and just make Pussy Bauer look like a total jerk.

You can burn Amaranthine to the ground with all survivors still in it, to retreat to the more defensible Vigil's Keep in Awakening.

Arkose: Having companions able to be killed off also complicates matters when it comes to DLC and series continuity. Mass Effect 2 allowed saves to be imported, which was a nice touch, but if a person had been killed on your save they are replaced by a conveniently equivalent character, minimising the long-term significance of that character's death (in terms of both plot development and gameplay functionality).

Ordering your lover to die on Virmire isn't negated of all impact just because someone with an assault rifle joins your team in the sequel.
Letting Wrex live significantly changes the story/future of Tuchanka, if not the gameplay there. Plot & story changes at the fringe, over wild experience changes will always be the norm due to the costs of development.

To the person who disliked Morrigan because they left and Alistair insisted on landing the killing blow... I think this was addressed in a patch? It started as a fan mod but (I could be wrong here) I think it was added in either 103 or 104, you can insist on making the sacrifice as a female warden now.
My biggest gripe as a noble born female who suffered (tremendously) through the terrible Alistair romance was that he refused to marry prior to the final battle. I so wanted to metagame him dead at the final battle and rule as queen alone. If he'd had the fucking stones to kill Anora (whom I actually love as a character) then I could have made a play for the throne afterwards, marriage or no... I HATE Alistair... and I'm getting side tracked.

All the Bioware DLC up to now comes out rather late in the day sadly.

StingingVelvet: All the Bioware DLC up to now comes out rather late in the day sadly.

EA is trickling it out strategically because they want to keep people returning to the game as close as possible to the release of the sequel. They are doing the same for Mass Effect 2.
The "Ultimate Edition" due to be released in October will include all the DLC (including this last one as well as the Awakenings expansion), so if you've never really bothered with the DLC this could be a great way to get into it.

It would be nice to have waited in order to get the complete package all at once but DA:O and its DLC is the only software, Game or otherwise, I have purchaed new in the last year. It was my splurge package - everything else waits till the price drops. I am sure that I will pick up a disk based version of the "Ultimate Edition" at some point - when it hits $19.99 - just so as to have the content on disk.

Yeah, I might do this, depending on the ease of getting the DLC to be DRM-free. The Fallout 3 DLC is DRM-free, so honestly there is no difference between burning a backup to a DVD and buying the GOTY edition.
Still, I like having that professionally packaged complete version... if I every see Fallout 3 GOTY for like $15 or less I will probably buy it.
Xbox Live has it now. PC version is expected around 10am Mountie time. Sorry Mountain time. US PS3 should have it around the same time, UK PS3 doesn't get it till wednesday.
Hopefully they will release a DVD of all the DLC (adventures and crappy promotional items) DRM free. For £5 I would buy it.
I've already got DAO and Awakenings and so getting the Ultimate edition with only some of the DLC seams like a waste of money!
Lair of the Shadow Broker for ME2 is up for download now. Witch Hunt is expected very soon, they are having some technical difficulties.
I could have told them that with launching both on the same day *sigh*
I just bought Shadow Broker... 1.5GB! Damn!
I'll get Witch Hunt and Mafia 2's DLC later after I read some fan reviews and beat Shadow Broker.

I saw this right as my download was finishing... what a waste of freaking time. It gives the same error a 16bit installer would.

I don't actually know whether to be angry or amused that a company as large as BioWare can make such a monumental cock up.
