Delixe: I don't actually know whether to be angry or amused that a company as large as BioWare can make such a monumental cock up.

Seriously... Bethesda had all kinds of DLC issues too though. I honestly think the teams working on these things are pretty damn small, and likely the rookies.
The whole executable is 0's by the way, when looked at in hex.

Yeah I opened it in CFF Explorer. I'm struggling to see how this got through Q&A at all. I can only assume the didn't bother after they packed the exe.
Witch Hunt is now available. At least it is from the in game launcher. Lets hope this one works *sigh*

Lou: I am sure that I will pick up a disk based version of the "Ultimate Edition" at some point - when it hits $19.99 - just so as to have the content on disk.
avatar
StingingVelvet: Yeah, I might do this, depending on the ease of getting the DLC to be DRM-free. The Fallout 3 DLC is DRM-free, so honestly there is no difference between burning a backup to a DVD and buying the GOTY edition.
Still, I like having that professionally packaged complete version... if I every see Fallout 3 GOTY for like $15 or less I will probably buy it.

Since I have yet to buy Fallout 3 - Finding the GOTY Edition for 15 - 20 would be a great buy for me.
So, another short DLC with nothing but recycled areas. Not only the sprint towards the 'more awesome with a samurai hot rod ownable look' game cut short the ammount of planned DLC it also impacted negatively on the DLC that was released. Call me paranoid if you wish but that's what i believe.
*Spoilers*
.
.
As for Morrigan, pretty much what i already knew. To keep romance out of the equation i went with a female Warden for the first run. It's obvious Morrigan considers the Warden a friend and she doesn't seem happy about having to leave alone. Defnitely not the bitch many seem to think she is. Still have to play through with a few more characters to get all the angles though.
Flemet has a big role in whatever is ahead, but we already knew that...
Nice stab, in Morrigan's final speech about change, at the fans who've expressed their less than flattering opinions about DA2, or at least that's how i interpret it.
Oh, 'Morrigan's secrets finally revealed' ? Yeah, right.

Oh, 'Morrigan's secrets finally revealed' ? Yeah, right.

Yeah i've got really good at spotting what areas are being recycled but this is the first one to actually tell you lol.
*spoilers*
I was playing a female warden and Alistair gave me no choice in him talking the US so I had every intention of introducing Morrigan to Vigilance but then she pulled THAT face :( couldn't do it. I have saved before the fight with the Strider (which I may do in a few mins since Shadow Broker is still a farce) because it looks like you need to beat it on hard to get the achievement and goody.
Incedentally I can see why they are not allowing people to import a warden now. Just too damn powerful. If anything this DLC suffers from the same trouble Awakening did which is low level fights that you can literally piss through without thinking. I firmly believe Golems was only as hard as it was because of the rubbish party you are given. Facing this DLC my Warden was kitted out with:
Corruption, Wades Superior Dragonbone Plate, Vigilance (longsword), Heartwood Shield, Anduril's Blessing, Spellward, Key to the City and Lifegiver. Not to mention the Legion of the Dead heraldry which gives you +20 all stats. Add to that the 'I win' combination of Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior/Battle Mage and nothing whatsoever was a challenge. Even the Strider or whatever it was called in the game was getting paralysed constantly by my Paragon Paralysis rune.
I guess importing that to DA2 would be kind of pointless as you would only be adding even more skills and stats.

eh, eh, she got to you too then ?
Short as it was it was a nice chat (Claudia Black, awesome as always), and i'm sure we'll see her again. Well, The Warden probably won't, but we will ;)

Agreed. Even the stalker on nightmare is kind of a letdown in terms of combat. I didn't even bother with tactics, just let everybody do their thing.
Companions weren't as useless as the ones in GoA but storywise they were just as incosequential as Tug or Sketch...sigh
Oh, and how very fitting that they went with a DW Warrior (Ariane) as a companion, considering that there will be no DW warriors in DA2...

Sad to hear it's all recycled areas... not sure how that is supposed to be worth $7.

The combat really isn't. If you are already level 35 you cannot level anymore and to be honest there is no need to. It's interesting to see the Strider in action and it does bring closure to Morrigan's relationship with the Warden which is the main purpose of it.

There's not a single new area in all the DLC's put toghteter, so it's not like this is something new...

Went and finished the fight twice.
*spoilers*
1) Time I killed her and it was pretty strong, made me feel genuinely guilty however she falls through the mirror so her death is NOT confirmed.
2) Nicey ending, "Just say good bye this time". She did look both upset and happy.
*end spoilers*
Now I have to do DA:O again with a Male warden so I can see the interaction there. There is one extra ending for the Male Warde who completed the ritual I know of. However anyone notice there was no after game save? That has me rather worried that DA2 won't record our choices in WH and this was all for nothing...

I know, it just felt like this one was going to be a larger piece of content, like Shadowbroker supposedly is. Guess I read that wrong.
Oh well.

Ah, she falls through the mirror then ? Yeah, she definitely doesn't die, as it's confirmed both her and Flemeth will carry alot of weight in whatever comes next in Thedas.
I'm skipping that one, i really don't want to kill her. If it was Alistair i'd jump at the opportunity, but killing Morrigan feels terribly wrong.

eh, eh, you and me both.
I've been looking through my characters and the one i was convinced was usable for this apparently ditched Morrigan and went for Leliana and didn't went through with the DR, so it's another playthrough for me aswell.
I don't know how relevant HW is to DA2, because from what i gather Morrigan doesn't die regardless of the choice you make. Man, this multiple choices-no canon thing is confusing...
Random Note:
HAHAHAHA, did you get the one about the hero of Ferelden having slept with a Pirate and five nugs ?

StingingVelvet: I know, it just felt like this one was going to be a larger piece of content.

Yeah, it's disappointing to say the least. Like i said above, i blame the sprint towards DA2 for all the shortcommings in the DLC's.

It's worth doing just to see it. As I said it's actually quite strong and made me feel horribly guilty.

No was that random chat? I was too busy having a foursome with Zev, Leliana and Isabella to think of the Pearl :p
There was a reference to hearing about an exceptionally smart Mabari who could be told to fetch and come back with cake :D

Well...i really don't want to kill her with a non-disposable char. I think i have a blood mage i don't want to keep anyway, so i'll try that option with him and then obliterate him from existence as punishment.

Yeah, it was randow chat between the two mages who are in the locked quarters i think. The chatter between the two mages in the library is funny aswell, but that one about the 5 nugs is priceless ;)

Heh yeah thats what I thought too but then they did something similar in Doctor Who
