Lou: Offering a 10% discount to all demo downloaders would certainly make the 99 cents palatable. Opportunity missed in my opinion.
Delixe: Isn't that the idea EA were floating and they were accused of raping gamers for charging for demos?
I think the brouhaha was because of EA's plans to offer demos or prequels at premium DLC prices, without offering any incentives toward the purchase of the full product (
bluesnews). Not to mention trying to convince purchasers of the full product that they should also buy the demo/prequel.
I'd rather see a free demo cut from the full game, like the Tower of Ishal you mentioned before. If I'd been sitting on the fence about purchasing the game, a free demo would have been enough to sway me.
(I miss demos. I'd probably have bought a lot more games lately if I had the chance to try them out first. Battlefield and COD, I'm looking at you!)
