Andy_Panthro: How are people finding loading times?
I have a PC well above recommended spec. and I was suprised sometimes at the loading times. I guess it comes from playing the witcher recently, which being a little bit older loads up new areas quick as lightning.
some loads are slower than others.. but I think I have a suspect PC.. as recently it's been giving me problems with just firefox.. hmm.
I love this game. Seriously... I may even ask for it's hand in marriage.

I also have a pretty good rig and have obscene load times. I suspect it might be a glitch or something, since sometimes the loads are lightning fast for a large area, and sometimes I spend two minutes waiting to load up some washer-woman's house :P
Also: I find it hilarious when we can consider The Witcher as having loading that is as "quick as lightning"

Well, it's true in my case. When I had my previous PC, I could almost make a cup of tea during some loading times. Since I upgraded, things are soooo much better!
I guess having a core i7, 6GB DDR3 and a solid state HDD makes a little bit of difference :)
It's been a long while since I've had a PC this good, so I was a touch taken aback at the loading times for DAO. Mind you, thinking about it, NWN2 had awful loading times for no reason also. After a few patches, those got better.

That's probably the last thing i'd want from this game. The hands, i mean :)
Damn, everybody walks around with huge hands. Very creepy once you notice it. And it's not just the size that is weird. The fingers are spread too far apart when hands are hangin' down. Looks...weird...
Otherwise, great fun so far...

Yes, you do notice the hands. There are one or two NPCs with oddly proportioned heads also, which stand out rather awkwardly. In one case, there was a mage in one of the DLC that looked like he had a case of microcephaly.
One thing that annoys me for no good reason is the clipping of certain armours (the templar one springs to mind) where the pauldrons clip into the chest. Must be a touch painful, but it happens often in conversation.

The clipping can be annoying, yes. I'm playing an elf, and at some point i equipped a two handed sword, and while walking around, the legs of my elf would clipp the tip of the sword with each step. Ouch!
Also, some weapons seem to float in mid air in the sense that there doesn't seem to be anything attaching them to the back of the character's armor.
But the VA, dialogues, characters and story make up for those little oddities so far ;)

Agreed, there are a multitude of things I would have done differently if I had been in charge, but it is still a fine game.
I even had a Fallout-style seemingly random encounter, but I won't spoil that if noone else has seen it yet.

I'll be keeping an eye out for that one. I didn't get one yet....Damn, now i'm curious ;)

It's far more odd than similar things in Fallout, if only because I wasn't expecting anything of the sort. It also takes you a moment to realise what's going on. I think it happened for me between the golem DLC village in the south and redcliffe... but I can't quite remember.
Well worth getting the golem, might be my favourite character... though thats not saying much really since I kind of wish I'd killed/ignored a few more of them... and I was trying to play a neutral character...

Well, now i'm really curious. I'm not that far along, so chances are i'll get that one later on.

I must be a really nice guy, because i really like all the members of my party so far, including that one female than nobody else seems to like ;)
Is there a limit to the number of companions you can have stashed away in party camp or can you take on as many as you like ?
After a long download, I finally got a chance to play a bit of it this morning. Already it's worth the wait.
I just looked and my copy isn't in my mailbox yet. Damn them, don't they know I need something to do?
Great game
