but i see your point. i've been downloading a lot of games from sites like gamersgate and even a six gig download means almost two days of painfully slow internet as my game computer chews up the bandwidth

Oh yeah, those things. :D
Your Internet must be in sad shape..TOCA 3 is 6GB here and I got that in about 5 hours, and my speeds suck.

I downloaded Mass Effect in 2 hours... not quite sure how big it is though. I live in NY, USA.

Yes, I find it pretty sluggish too, anything big just gets left to download overnight.
