I'm often a voice of dissent on this. I really liked Dragon Age 2. However, it does have weaknesses and I understand many complaints. The reuse of areas was mainly atrocious because it was so blatant. Highly visible doors to block off areas and narrow corridors that are very easy to remember.

The gameplay was fun enough, as were the characters. The plot turned to garbage in Act 3, where all choices are tossed out the window to force you into getting the perspective of both sides, whether you like it or not. And people who should be your allies because you've openly agreed with them start attacking you.

No, I don't want to work for Meredith. Okay fine, I have no choice. Oh gee, now the mages I support are attacking me. Why? Because I'm working for Meredith. When finally I find someone to speak reason to and let them know I support them, the mages I otherwise support attack both of us.

StingingVelvet: Since it ties permanently to an EA account all you sold was a box, for which $6 sounds about right.
I buy all my games with the intention to sell it to recoup my cost so no, the guy received ALL my pre-order DLCs, expansions blah blah and I think even the ME2 promotion. Transferred all my account logins to him. Every new game means a new account. So its not $6 for a box but for the full blown game.

Taleroth: Oh man, Master of Orion 3 is so awesome.

hercufles: depends if you compare it to da 2 is master of orions 3 a good game.
So just as in "Without evil there can't be no good" there's "Without bad there can be no good" either?
I thought we were beyond good and evil (or bad in this case) by now.
I am almost positive that people here blow DA2's problems out of proportion. I need to play this thing, because there's no way it's that bad.
what i dislike about da 2 is it wants to be mass effect 2. But i wanted a baldurs gate kinda gameplay.

TheCheese33: [...]
It's nice for lack of a better word.
The main problem is that its predecessor was DAO and that it was way overhyped.

zteman: That's not my opinion but that's what the open market deem the value of DA2 is. I just sold it on Ebay at a whoping $6. This just shows you how crappy the game is. I sold NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2 for $10 on Ebay this year as well and that game is hmmm quite a few years old.
Was that including shipping?

If so cancel it, ill give you $8

It's not as bad as the "OMG, it's the end of humanity as we know it" crowd would have you believe. But it's not a good game. I'm a big fan of BioWare's games, but this one just really disappointed me. It's the first game of theirs that I've ever played where I actually had to force myself to finish it and when I was done all I felt was relief. I still think it's worth the $6 though, as there are some elements of the story that are quite good, and some of the characters are very enjoyable as well.

What more do you need to prove it? Market price should put a heavy weight on the quality of the game. The hatred on their own forums (threads getting locked constantly), hatred across the board at other forums, the scandal to raise their own score, and the soon to be lackluster DA3 pre-order sales number. Go get your own copy for $6.

Just watch the L2P's on Youtube you'll get the idea, and save yourself the money

Trust me Cheese, it is that bad. Just thinking about replaying it makes me sick to the point of wanting to throw up ;)

The game could be had for 50% off during week two. During week 3 it could be had even more discounted than that, i saw it going for 13£. Even bundled with ME2 the sales figures remained pitful. I think that shows that is not just people here who think poorly of it.

But definitely, grab it cheap and check it out for yourself.

Believe it, it's that horrible.
That is if you don't kill yourself first seeing the same dungeon again and again 500 times in a chapter.

the same thing happened to portal 2 for the most part.

you can't dictate how another person is going to respond to a game, you can help them make decisions, but saying 'the game sold for £6 that game is awful!' and 'the forum trolls hate it also!' is not a substantial reason for most rational people to form opinions on it.

I will tell you the game isn't the anti-Christ, but it's not great either. It fits firmly into the 'okay but forgettable' category mostly due to the story's limitations effecting the entire rest of the game, Bioware took a Gamble, the gamble didn't pay off, that's the simplicity of it.

For me there are some real stand out moments but it's mostly mired in crap that's not quite were it should be.

When a company has given us so many hits as bioware has, one or two flops aren't enough to justify all of the sudden hate.

But... what if we hate most of those hits too?

Neverwinter Nights killed my childhood, I tells ya'.

depends if you hate it because it killed you childhood because you spent so much time on it.

or you played it for an hour and curled up in a ball crying.
