You're not going to like it, but it only took me 4 mins to download the demo =/ so I guess it's the luck of the draw as to whether you get a good connection or not. Still, won't be able to try it (or the Shogun 2 demo) till after I've finished my work for tomorrow.

I still have 4 and 1/2 hours before I can go home and grab the demo. :'( I really hope it doesn't take 9 years to download cause I really only have 4-5 hours between the time I get home til when I usually go to bed and I'm really hoping to be able to get some time with it tonight...

Let me get this straight. People are upset that you don't auto-attack anymore? Auto-attack is the biggest problem with MMOs. I see this as an improvement.

No, peoples are upset, or to be more correct will/might be upset IF : they changes the combat system from the "oldschoolish" kind of "tactical" that DAO used to a basic hack and slash one.

Still downloading at enormous 170kb....only 4h left....at least Shogun 2 will be ready in a hour :) But so far a lot of people (at least in germany) don´t seem too impressed with the demo, too much hack & slay and shitty graphics...well, I´ll see for myself.

I really like the demo. Also, I was fortunate enough to only wait for five minutes before it finished downloading.

Well, download was cancelled but at least now its loading with 800kb :) As I said I will take my time and get my on opinion. I like DA:O very much and i don´t think the second one could be so much worse.

Did you play this on a console? For DAO I played on PC and actually played by controlling the party, not just a single character. Without auto-attack this would be impossible as I would que up actions on multiple characters and then unpause the game and have them go to work while casting some supporting spells from the back as a mage. On console this approach looks to have been replaced by 'play a single character as a diablo game' approach, which may, or may not be fun, I don't know and I won't find out as I'll be doing the PC demo only.

Downloading now for pc at 225 KBS. Shogun 2 demo is taking up most of my bandwidth so I'm not too fussed with the ok dl speed.

Also, it's worth remembering that the graphics in the demo will be quite bad, since you can only choose medium settings. The DX11 enhancements won't be seen until the final game.

How the hell do you run a part-based RPG without auto-attack? Pause and command ever single hit? That sounds like fun! Unless you want to use the tactics menu to remove the need to control your whole part auto-attack is essential, which is why the PC version has it.

As for the demo I am too busy playing Bulletstorm and Fallout: Dead Money today to bother with it. I know I am buying the game anyway.

You'll miss out on the bonus item then.

Just finished my first play through of the demo, and love it. The combat is much more refined than Origins and seems to flow much more smoothly. March 11th can't come soon enough!
