Just a heads up that the Dragon Age 1.04 patch is now available for PC. 360 and PS3 users should expect a patch in the next week or so, once Microsoft & Sony clear them through QA.
apparently it disables floaty numbers, thats rather sad and might get confusing
A number of memory leaks have been fixed, which will reduce the frequency of crashes.
Quite frankly that's the only thing I care about. If I play longer than 20 mins then try a Mana Clash it's CTD everytime.

"The female player would have sex with Morrigan, impregnating her with dead Alistair's baby, if I recall correctly."
No more of that. :(
hm, fixing authentication issues on DLC? Might actually get to active my stone prisoner and blood armor now which refused to work previously.
Odd, I had no authentication issues or crashes at 1.02, which was the version I beat the game in and soon lost interest thereafter. Preachy moral ambiguity gets on my nerves.

I hope they made it like Mass Effect 2, where you only need to authorize once. Dragon Age DLC was really annoying DRM because you had to be online every time you loaded the game or you couldn't access your save.
I might use this patch to finally start my evil mage, but honestly I don't think I'm ready for the game again yet. Too much combat to be instantly replayable.

You didn't, that was the bug. If you kept trying it would work. :P

Well I hope that is what they fixed then :)
Odd. The only crashes I had were loading a game with in the Market area of Denerim. Got me back to desktop everytime. I had to load another savegame first, then from that savegame, load my actual savegame. Didn't prevent me to finish the game. ^_^
I bought the game at release and played it nearly 80 hours and had no crashes. So strange. :)
The crashes people are reporting only got really bad around the 1.03 patch. It was being caused by the graphical effects cause by sustainable talents and spells so basically the better a player became at the game the more likely he was to experience a crash. Once people had Arcane Warriors sussed and each one was walking around with a minimum of 6 sustainable spells at once then used a graphically demanding spell like Mana Clash it was CTD. It actually became silly when people had multiple Arcane Warriors in a party. Most of this was due to memory leaks which BioWare claim to have now fixed. I haven't had a chance to try it yet as I managed to get Fallout 3 stable with a rather large amount of mods so i'm doing that first.

Heh, I'm trying to get Oblivion stable with 300+ mods working at the same time and it's pure hell....
Does it increase performance or anything? Not that the game wasn't well optimised to begin with.
I got an update for the 360 version a few hours ago, it was rather fast though so I'm not sure if it was the full patch or some pre-patch patch
